FACT: Black people do not belong in the hospitality industry
So I was at a Mexican restaurant for lunch and was waited on by a nice black man. (Ya right..). We were sat down by the hostess. Our waiter comes by after probably a solid 4 minutes of him ignoring us and says "U kno what u want?".... no hello. no how are you. just "U kno what u want"... gimme a fucking break. I ask him very politely for water, he doesn't even respond, but just walks away. He came back after about 3 minutes with a glass of water and says "Rdy now?"...
Ok... seriously.. I don't give a flying fuck if it's busy or if your in a bad mood, or if your crack whore sister just got locked up and your baby mommas in jail for prostitution... if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen... and so far I've experienced quite a few "bros" that simply have poor hospitality. |
Oh No You Didnt Just Ask Me For Extra Ketchup !

maybe he's a great waiter, he just doesnt like white ass crackers....
|
why did you associate his behavior with his color? Do you get treated like that all the time by black people?
|
They also don't tip.
|
the real funny part is what he did to your food dude. mmmmm tasty eh ?

I've received poor service from just about every race. Heck, try getting less than snotty service from a little rich girl whose daddy told her to get a summer job.
|
oh please, shitty waiters/waitresses are everywhere and in every color. Every city I've ever been in, in the US and abroad, shitty service at least once. I've found that the worst are the speed-head guys (and sometimes girls) who work in little bar and grills and chains.

:thumbsup Gexus - people can be rude in general. You're the one making a racial issue out of it. :2 cents: |

I can't recall EVER getting bad service from a black man. The ones I've had have been more than hospitable, but I've had bad service from MANY black WOMEN. I've noticed many of them have a serious attitude problem. Not all of them, but if I had to pick one sex of one race, I'd have to say black women seem to have the worst people skills...of the ones I've dealt with frequently.
|
yeah, I've noticed the same thing. Whether they're waiters, or cashiers or whatever. Almost every black cashier will not even acknowledge your existence when you get to the register, or even thank you at the end of the transaction. I thought that maybe my thoughts on this are just racist, but it's a really distinct thing that I've noticed, like a slap to the face.
they're also really bad at treating others who wait on them. I've seen some really bitchy behavior by blacks at cash registers. I know this because I used to be a cashier. The worst customers were some upper income whites, and many, many lower income blacks. |

Yeah totally, but don't limit yourself man, just stereotype and call it all blacks. It's easier then breaking it down by gender. |

Now, none of that should dismiss basic politeness like, thank you and you're welcome. But if they're not brought up like that, it's highly unlikely they're going to have it in them. They probably don't MEAN to be what we consider "Rude", they just don't know any better. That's how racism continues today imo. Noone is born racist, it's taught. Just like noone is born with good manners, it's taught. Ideally someone in the service industry SHOULD understand basic politeness, but like I said, unless they're overtly RUDE, I'll usually overlook it. |
I personally get good service from everyone. My wife says I act like the mayor, I ask them how they are, say please and thank you.Treat them like people, servers tend to get treated as non people and that adds to the atitude.

I always tip real good at places I go to often and people are like why do you tip that much, your crazy. Ha! They are the crazy ones. In return my drinks are poured twice as strong and I get entire meals for free. They serve me 5 drinks and charge for 3 etc..etc.. I get my tip back 2 times more!!:) |

That kid was probably like a lot of other indians, antisocial by nature because they live completely isolated on the reservations. Nice try though. |

Fuck You. I've been had horrible service from waiters of all races. I've had horrible service from white people many a time but you dont see me coming on this board saying white people dont belong in the hospitality department. What kind of shit is that? Why dont you tell us how you really feel about black people you racist prick. I hope he spit in your food and i pray that every time you eat out for the rest of your life some one pisses, spits, or throws a hair in your food. Ihope they drop some of it on the floor and even sneeze over a plate. Hopefully one day someone will lick your silverware too because you deserve it. From the way your post sounds, you probably deserve all the bad treatment you receive. You seem like a total dick. Fuck you, you bitch. |

Just a quick search...
http://www.awesomelibrary.org/multic...-patterns.html Native American Communication Patterns Eye contact: Direct prolonged eye contact is seen as invasive. It?s avoidance is practiced to "protect the personal autonomy of the interactors" (Darnell, 1988, p. 6). Eye contact is usually fleeting, and the gaze of listener and speaker will often remain around the forehead, mouth, ear or throat area. Direct gaze to an elder or very respected person is seen as especially rude, unless one is in a formal listening/storytelling situation, in which case "?listeners may look at (the speaker) more directly ? without violating his or her personal space by eye contact" |
You can tell a lot about somebody by the way they treat waiters. There's actually a book about this by some CEO, can't remember where I saw it.
