Do boob jobs kill nipple sensation?

I've always wondered this. Ladies?

And if so, is it really worth it?

kaori 09-06-2007 09:46 PM

it's a pretty common side effect...
personally haven't had it done..

I asked my mom that question.

Her answer?

It's been BETTER.

God damn why did I have to ask her that question I will never know. It haunts my dreams.

Sly, according to Wikipedia (and actual sources cited in the article):

Quote:

Feeling in the nipple and breast can change after implant surgery. Changes include intense sensitivity, chronic breast pain, and no feeling in the nipple or breast for months or years after surgery.

In their booklets for patients, Allergan and Mentor report that within the first three years, between 2-8% of augmentation patients report moderate to severe chronic breast pain, an additional 1-2% report moderate to severe breast sensitivity changes, and 3-10% report moderate to severe nipple complications such as loss of sensation.[44][62][63] These are similar for silicone gel or saline breast implants, but the longer-term data on saline implants indicates that chronic breast pain is reported by 17% of women within five years.

This altered sensitivity can be temporary or permanent and may affect sexual response or the ability to nurse a baby.
So there.

I become less of a fan of models with implants every day. Decreased sensitivity is a very common side effect, but it depends a bit on the method used.

keep them natural... they look better...

One of my friends who had one said it did happen to her.

Several models I have worked with indicated that they lost sensation in their nipples after getting implants. Apparently though. they are warned of this risk beforehand...

StarkReality 09-07-2007 02:34 AM

It all depends on the way the surgery is done, there are different methods, another common side effect is always erected nipples...ex-girlfriend had this "problem", well...I didn't complain, hehe
