Thank you everyone who attended the Anti Piracy Meeting last night.
I must tell you, given the history of the adult business uniting on anything, I was extremely skeptical about anything being accomplished. I fully expected a huge bomb of nothing to happen. I did not expect so many people willing to give money without us even asking for it. We had about 65 people there. I left the meeting satisfied and thrilled at the turnout last night, and of the passion and determination held in the hearts of the attendees. I feel that the meeting last night does indeed show that there are real problems that must be addressed as a group and the days of wishing things to go away or someone else to take responsibility for them is over.
Minus a few things that I have my own personal beliefs and concerns about I am happy with the goings on at the meeting. I have each and every one of your's information and one by one of the next day or so I will personally reply to each one of you. We must now continue that momentum into what we must have this group accomplish. We must still keep this group sterile of all outside influence. I have some personal concerns that I will address one on one with those members that we have deemed chair worthy to head up the group. As evolution occurs we will surely chair others within the content producers arena. I look forward to speaking with each and every one of you individually. It was a refreshing pleasure to share the passion of this issue with so many other people that feel the same way as I/We do here at Shane's World. Follow up posts will layout what was accomplished, (which im my opinion was immense) as it develops over the next hours and days ahead. Stay tuned. I understand everyone is anxious and I will get to filling you all in as soon as physically possible. Please feel free to comment. Sincerely, airek [[at]] antipiracyboard.com |
Glad to hear it went well. Although I was unable to attend (East Coast) I was there in spirit. Please keep us informed...maybe post minutes of the meeting somewhere.

It was overall a positive experience and I learned some things about some people that I didn't want to, but in the long run it is the adult business and nothing fully surprises me anymore.
|
Thanks A1R3K for putting this together.. I didnt stay for the whole meeting.. but, the info provided and the meeting itself was a good start to protecting ourselves.. I look forward to becoming more involved as need be.

It was a great turn out Airek and you did a great job speaking your mind last night.
I think a lot more people now realize the magnitude of this problem, and received a lot of useful information. People who are more on the video side of the business had their eyebrows raised most of the meeting. Big thumbs up goes out to Hush Money and Shane's World for stepping up and putting everyone together Power to the porn producers! :winkwink: |
Couldn't make it but glad to hear it went well.
|
absolutely.
thanks to all that showed up and received the information and took action. |
It's us who should be thanking you, Airek.
Thanks for putting your "make it happen" skills to use to make it happen. It was an enriching experience, and I can already feel things in motion. |
Nice job A1R3K, Hush and Shanes.. and everyone else involved.
|
I'm glad to hear that things like Anti Piracy Meetings happen. It mean we are on the right road :thumbsup

Yea ok... talk is fine... but what is the action(s) ???
So everyone is glad... what is going to be the actual action as to prevent piracy on your parts ???
Please don't take this the wrong way... I was just wondering how you are going to change standards... change peoples attitudes in large masses and not to say regulate such materials an a massive scale; and what is, besides talk, being done that is different from attempts by others ??? I'm not against the idea or actions, but perhaps you could lay out a possible solution please... Later, |

Warning your enemy that you're going to war is one thing - giving him the coordinates of how you're going to get there and the amount of men/weapons at your disposal isn't exactly a good thing. **This is my personal opinion, though. On another note - I can't thank A1R3K & Shane's World & Hush Money enough for putting themselves in the line of fire and going to the frontlines to say - 'WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT' who's going to help us do something about it? Whatever the outcome, I commend them for taking action and also the people who attended and pledged their alliance to something that affects us all. It's a trickledown effect. It may not be hurting you directly, but if it hurts the hand that feeds you, it will hurt you in the end. Thanks again, A1R3K! |
A1r3k -
Great job organizing and promoting the meeting. I think it was an excellent first step and was glad to participate. :thumbsup :thumbsup |
Trixxxia... Have you seen a psychiatrist lately?

The Anti-Piracy meeting last night was an important first step...the purpose wasn't to emerge with a comprehensive strategy, but rather to find consensus on the problems content theft causes to all of us in the industry (both on the DVD and Internet side), and then to brainstorm possible courses of action.
A seeming myriad of ideas were put on the table, some quite different and creative. At the end, a committe was established to pull together the multitude of suggestions discussed. The fact that a formal organization is finally coming together is quite an achievement in itself. The main thing that I would like to see initially is that an effort be made to recruit many more member companies to help spread the workload and expenses. Thank you again to A1R3K and all whom helped to bring the meeting together, and to all whom participated. I left the meeting with hope and motivation... ADG |

My son is of the same belief :) Back to the issue at hand though - I don't think what I said sounded crazy *other than spelling that nick LMAO |
did anybody record it?
If so, can you please post it on a torrent site or something so I can watch it. Ok seriously - I wish I could've attended and I'm glad to hear it went well. Nothing bad can come of this effort - if you're not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. |
airek, not my biz but just curious arent you with shanes world anymore?
|
