All kidding aside, I would say he was one of the greatest influences in opera in my lifetime.

TeenCat 09-06-2007 02:03 AM

When I was heading home, I heard the report his kidneys had failed. I knew then he wasn't going to make it.

He was a great artist. RIP Pavarotti

Cake > Pie

It was his time, I think... he'd hung in there longer than most have.

Good man, he was. As a kid, I used to walk around the house mimicing his singing style... drove my mother nuts, I'm sure.

And he was a man with a good heart... did a lot of charity work in his time with the Red Cross and such.

We lost an icon yesterday, certainly.

Such an incredible singer, a blessed voice and a huge Juventus Torino fan.

Domingo or Carreras couldn't compete with him. I did wanted to see him live someday. RIP maybe he will have a chance to get on stage with Rossini himself over there.

SykkBoy 09-06-2007 07:54 AM

I was lucky enough to see the Three Tenors several years ago and it blew me away...right up there with some of the most amazing rock concerts. The energy level was amazing. I really enjoyed it.

RIP

tranza 09-06-2007 08:12 AM

Yep, he's gone for good...

71 years old.

RIP.
