Anyone ever change bad laptop keyboard?

I picked up a laptop for my cross country move last year, and it seems already the keyboard is bad. The keys are clean as can be, but the "9" seems to stick although its not really "stuck" it prints out 9's across screen and won't stop. Ive heard this is bad keyboard...

any advice?

sometimes the 9 wont work, and if it does it will print 9's infinitely

Go to a service center and replace it. Somehow I poured on my laptop a cup of tea. It took about 5 minutes to a service guy to replace it with a new one.

I had a problem with my laptop's keyboard last week. I solved it by taking a vacuum cleaner over it.

Just be careful that you don't suck any of the keys in (I had one come off and caught it just before it entered the hose).

i will never take a computer ive done my work on to anyone to repair.

i am too paranoid, adult content is considered obscene anywhere but in Los Angeles, California. I work in adult and all my machines are off limits to anyone but me and my partner

no way

You really should try my suggestion. I was getting ready to take mine in when I tried the vacuum. Took about 60 seconds.

Amazing the stuff that can fall down under the keys.

Fletch XXX 09-05-2007 04:14 PM

9ok, going to try right now

I did it two years ago. Seriously, if it's something *I* can do, it's pathetically simple. Took about 10 minutes.

if you swap one out, be carefult removing it as they are usually held on my little plastic clips. Just google your model and keyboard replacement and you will prolly find out all the info you need.

yeah from what i read before starting this thread, i'm not too worried about the actual replacement of it, just wondering if these symptoms go with bad keyboard diagnosis.

this was my first laptop, so i dont have experience with them going out to know if this is whats happening or if it was dust or something...
