Should Senator Craig withdraw his resgination?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070905/...o/craig_senate

It seems like he's rethinking his resignation. Should he?
Is what he did really that terrible? Do you think there is forgiveness in his party?

Personally, I don't think what he did was THAT bad. His little speech after being caught left a lot to be desired, but if he's a good leader and doing a lot for his state, should he ask for forgiveness and then move on and keep doing his job? It's not like he killed anyone or punched an old lady in the face.

What he did wasn't that bad, he didn't force himself on anybody.. but a big issue is his credibility just went out the window. Politicians are far from saints, but it's pretty hard to publically squash gay rights by day and then troll for cock in mens restrooms by night.

Not being a republican it doesn't really effect me. He didn't betray me, I didn't vote for him.

I think he should just for the comedic aspect of having a Senator who trolls airport bathrooms for gay sex.

SykkBoy 09-05-2007 11:12 AM

Would this uproar have been as big if he had been trolling for hetero sex in a park? Um, is there such a thing?

DaddyHalbucks 09-05-2007 11:15 AM

His political career is dead.

Get over it, Larry.

And who condemns homosexual sex. Pure comedy.

TSGlider 09-05-2007 11:18 AM

The guy's a staunch opponent of gay marriage, gay unions, gay anything. I tell you, that whole "Do as I say, not as I do," line only holds up if the guy saying it is your father and you're under 12 years old.

JP-pornshooter 09-05-2007 11:21 AM

the sex is no longer the issue.. the lying about it is much worse issue..not to mention he was apparently involved in a FBI investigation in the 80's related to senators having gay sex with "notes"..

TampaToker 09-05-2007 11:24 AM

Did anyone actually listen to the interview? There was a few things in there the detective said that didn't make sense. Did Craig officially say it happened?

Drake 09-05-2007 11:31 AM

Makes no difference to me if he wants to keep his job, and if he wants to try to remain in the closet after being exposed. If he's good at his job, what do I care that he's gay and in denial. But it's the anti-gay party he belongs to that he has to deal with.

I see it this way.
1) He is gay and a hypocrite
2) He is not gay and innocent but he was dumb enough to plead guilty to something he did not do.

Either way he is not fit for office (not because he is gay but because he is a hypocrite :))

He should hook up with that other republican who said he was only offering oral sex to an undercover police officer because he was afraid of black people.

Yes he should stay and run for reelection, and hopefully win the primary.

That would pretty much guarantee the dems his senate seat.

but does his being hypocritical about this particular instance really affect the job he does in office?

99% of the population is hypocritical about one thing or the other in their lives...that leaves 1% and do we really want someone in office who "claims" to not be a hypocrite? They're likely lying or in hypocritical denial

I love that video where he calls clinton a dirty, naughty, nasty boy.
