I'm listening right now, vaguely. I remember exactly where I was last year when I was listening to Howard and heard the news...

Martin 09-11-2002 09:26 AM

I listened to it today and when it was going down.. I got goose bumps.. Howard Stern did a good job..

RATBOY 09-11-2002 09:30 AM

I am in Seattle and that is how I found out. I was on the Alaskan Way Viaduct when he started covering it. It was time delayed over here so I wasn't sure WHAT the hell was going on.

He did a better job than a LOT of the other BIG newscasters.

I listened to the Stern show - amazing show! I have been a fan for over a decade, and this show just blew me away.

Mutt 09-12-2002 01:49 AM

Despite all the clones and media saying Howard is past his prime, he is still THE MAN. The Original, the rest have cloned everything about him and his show.

The 9/11 show was amazing. It's too bad they only played part of it today, Howard and his crew stayed on the air til after 12 o'clock that day.

It made it all the more 'real' and horrifying listening to Howard while also watching CNN as it happened.
At first nobody on the show including Howard knew what the hell was going on, then Howard's on the phone with his buddy Ralph,
the layabout, who lives in Jersey but he can see the Manhattan skyline from his window. Howard tells him to go look out the window and Ralph comes back and can't believe what he's seeing and then everything starts speeding up with more reports.

Great show. You can download all Stern shows from alt.binaries.howard-stern . Everyday without fail there are a couple guys who upload the whole show. You can request special shows and like magic they'll soon appear.

Howard's definitely leaving radio in 3 years, he's been part of my life for so long, i will miss it immensely. The TV show isn't anything close to the radio show. Hopefully he will come back to radio after a year or two trying to do other shit.

Cabbie is an idiot. Thank god he's not on very much anymore.
I had a running feud with him, he's a big baby.

Jakk 09-12-2002 05:49 AM

Anyone know where the show can be listened to live online? I get a signal out of Buffalo but its crap where I have my computer stationed in the house.
