It would have been nice if the assassination attempts had worked. Last thing the Iraqi civilians need is more radioactive munitions dumped on their land by allied forces... it's not as if they voted saddam in.
but seeing as saddam is too hard to get to from within, and there needs to be a war to distract people from the economy......

Well it war would definatly boost the economy by creating more jobs and the need for more products, etc.

War would have a great influence on the economy, but personally I dont care. Right now im even considering joining the Marines.

lol, only cable tv. Telstra and Optus don't cover the north coast area, only the major cities.. my criteria for moving up here was that the town had to have DSL though.. couldn't go from 1.5mbit in sydney to some backwater with dialup :)

Shit no. Never done the DSL thing myself. Straight from dial-up to Optus cable and now I could never go back. You get spoilt pretty quickly on a fast connection.

On topic.. I think we need to go back to Iraq and finish the job that we didn't finish the first time we were there. I think our policy of being forceful but not upsetting anyone else is so BS. If we are going to kick someones ass then just fucking do it!

As for civilian losses, well yeah it is sad, but that is the way it goes in war. Just keep in mind that 'innocent' casualties are astronomically lower than they were in the last big war we were in. Anyone remember carpet bombing of German cities? How about the fire bombing of Japanese cities? Anyone here know that we killed more people in Japan with fire bombs that nukes?

War sucks, but if you are going to do it, do it big time and finish the job the first time so you don't have to do it twice.

I've personally never thought that starting a war without a legitamate reason was a good idea. I don't like Saddam either but I don't think waging war is the right answer. The guy needs a bullet in his head but the last thing the people of that country need is one terrorist dictator replaced by the might of another (refering to the unelected king of Amercia - GWB).

Saddam needs to be taken out, no argument there, but the problem is that when you eliminate him, another smelly bushylipped fucker pops up in his place, one who's probably even related to him.

Sure, we can "replace" him with someone who is "friendly" with the West today, but those types of individuals have proven themselves time and time again to be notoriously untrustworthy, unreliable, and downright dangerous.

I honestly haven't heard a really good reason why we should hit Saddam. He is "Probably" funding terrorism is what I keep hearing. Good enough for me lets start bombing the fuck out of his troops and a few innocent civilians should be ok too. Please.

He's "trying" to develop nuclear weapons. So what? If I were the leader of a small country so would I. Why would we believe he would start shooting them off any more than any other country? Nobody knows what's going on there. When considering things concerning with politics you never know what is true and what is not. Time is the best judge.

American papers are full of "proofs" nowadays, that's their business to support the gov. Tapes, interviewed saddam's fuckmates etc. I'm just wondering why noone screams about bombing of Iraq that happens every Friday during the last year? USForce along with Britain crossing Iraq's border every Friday and sometimes there are civils among the losses. Probaby, it's not the _right_ thing. Instead, there are headlines - palestinians celebrate 9/11 anniversary, iraq papers say 9/11 is a god reward and other bullshit.

The truth is somewhere in the middle, everyone plays their own game - bush&co want to control the world deciding what is good and what is not and saddam keeps selling oil being a sponsor for antiamerican organisations, hides himself behind iraq citizens when bombing. They all consider people as naive sheeps, and unfortunately they are right in most cases. Everyone who thinks "I'm not the sheep" is exactly the one when he/she voting in those polls and agrees to go to kill people for some1's else benefit.

War cannot be justified by any aims, cause all of the aims are someones' business interestsn sold like a popular idea.

- "almost" no change saddam can have nuklear weapons in the near future, same for bio/chem. weapons
- terrorists like bin laden WOULD LOVE to kill him, no change saddam is funding "classical" islamic terrorists

i am just wondering why no one seems to notice those us-militairs quitting their jobs as a result being constantly ignored by the current us-government. the us-media seems to be fucked up totally, now.

that's not exactly what the inspectors are telling. he shut the doors after some stinky intelligence shit started to happen, even us-inspectors said that they understand him for doing this.


btw. the european officals are probably not so much concerned about humanity but the fact that saddam has missiles that could reach our cities. i dont trust the european goverments (i guess we know what governments are meant) much more than the us- or the iraqi.

I hate to bust your bubble... but as stupid as you all think Bush is, he isn't stupid enough to rely on newspaper research and "proof" to base his decisions. We have the NSA for a reason, I'm sure they're VERY busy right now writing reports and briefs. Presidents (ALL Presidents) USE the media as their propaganda tool by releasing the various press releases and such, but they don't use the media for intelligence.
