My iphone sucks how is yours?

it has tons of cool features that work but WTF is up with the dropped calls. It is almost unusable as a phone.

:disgust

Aside from some limitations I have found, like not being able to download files to it directly from the web, no flash support on the web the limited support for 3rd party apps,Not being able to shoot video clips from the camera, all problems that are slated to be resolved in the next major update... I like mine.

There is the issue of not being able to replace the battery yourself, but even that seems to be working itself out with the court cases against apple currently.

The battery life is great. It works very well on wifi, in fact I dont even take my laptop with me anymore.

I have programs that can log me into my home computers using remote desktop, so I can access anything I need there. The Edge service sucks and is slow, but I have a high speed sprint card also, and a moblie router setup in my pathfinder, so I can always use that connection via wifi if need be.

I found it to be a great during the convention, I was able to actualy show high res pictures and video of what I do on the spot, without having to wipeout my entire laptop etc... fact, my laptop never even left my room.

I think the 8gig limits a little low, but hell, with the remote desktop access etc, I can get around that. I don't use this thing as an ipod etc. so whatever.

Even with my poor eyesight, I can read the screen great, I love the fast zooming in and moving around of the screen. (Thats the main reason I retired my ppc 6700... the screen was to hard for me to use)

PLUS this thing actually fits in my pocket. I find I carry it everywhere now, just because it's not a pain in the ass.

IT works perfectly with my garmin gps, via blue tooth, and gives me full access to all the features, address book etc right on my dash. (My ppc 6700 could only dial out and receive calls) So I'm happy there.

When it comes down to the slow edge, here is how I look at it. It works (ok) for those few times I'm someplace that doesn't have wifi and I need to access something in a pinch, 90% of the time if I'm using it to surf the web, I'm sitting someplace with wifi. IF the issue is that great or I'm someplace that I need faster access and the wifi is not there, I create my own using my Sprint card or I just bring in my laptop and use the sprint card directly and bypass the phone all together.

For what this phone does do, it does VERY well, it's clean and simple to use... The voice mall rocks, I love how you can simply pick which you want to hear, without having listen to each one. I love how everything is intergrated and works together seemlessly.

For a first attempt at producing and selling a phone to the public, I have to say that apple did a hell of a job and really raised the bar for everyone else. Only good things can come from this. :)

I asked a friend with an iPhone to bring up GFY.com on his web browser as a test at the last Internext show. Four or five minutes later he was still trying to get to the main forum page. Way too slow...

Dropped calls are down to FUCKING AT&T assholes Their fucking system sucks i was with them for 10 years and no problems while they where Cingular, since they took over AT&T their service is total shit. Voice mails took up to 5 days to get to me. They advertise fewer dropped calls than any other service which is total bull shit. Steve Jobs made the fatal mistake of choosing the worst carrier in the world to align his IPhone to. Had he used Verizon most of these issues would be non existent !

Others have brought this up. But seriously some it has to be on the phone as it is way way too much.

AT&T sucks, not the iPhone.

They're like 900 bucks down here and I've never spent so much on a cell phone.

Ya know, here in the Cincinnati area, no issue at all with the actual phone service... in fact, both sprint and verison only give me 1 bar at my house where att gives me 5, have not had a single dropped call.

Semi-Retired-Dave 09-03-2007 09:39 PM

I love my iphone, except for the keyboard at times. Just like anything else, you just need to get used to it. Mine doesn't drop calls that much, just the same as when I used to have Verizon.

I love when it picks up hot spots, I check my email and browse as if I was on my home computer.

Good phone, just not really business friendly yet.

I think the next when will be much better by far.

Donfoolio 09-03-2007 09:48 PM
