My straight forward point of view on the "Homeland Security Advisory System"

I seriously cannot believe we as a country would have such a ridiculous thing.

I mean cmon what the hell?

Ok ya lets inform over CNN, a worldwide news broadcasting network that the USA is on HIGH alert today, or any other day.

Terrorists watch CNN DUH, will they attack when we are on a "HIGH SECURITY ALERT"? very doubtful. They are waiting till CNN announces that we go off the HIGH level and go back down to "Elevated, Guarded" or less than that. CNN WILL announce this crap too!

Thats our biggest security flaw in my eyes right now.

well at least they actually have translators now who can tanslate all the telphone and satellite phone intercepts.

That color system is stupid

We are now on a Emerald Green alert! Please do not confuse with the Forest Green or the Blue-Green. This also bears no similarity at all with Rain Forest Green or regular Green.

its a stupid system that just tells the terrorists when NOT to attack.

very fucking stupid

salsbury 09-10-2002 11:48 PM

i doubt it makes any difference what level we're at. the terrorists aren't going to attack the military establishment in any case - that would be completely pointless. they'll just find some mall somewhere and attack it, much more effective.

but at least the "homeland security advisory system" will keep the sheeple feeling safe. safe enough to go buy stuff, anyways!

Exactly, it tells the terrorists when NOT to attack. Very fucking smart. Re-think it.

If a terrorist was planning to attack a mall or other civilian target, would the color alert system affect his timing at all? Would he believe that mall security or perhaps some teenage shopper would somehow be more likely to thwart his efforts on a high alert day?

If he was going after a government target I can see how he might want to strike on a low alert day as opposed to high alert.

Well you are not bright enough to understand the concept apparently so I will explain it to you. They cannot launch a major attack (and this is what I am speaking too, not some individual act), in a vacuum, there is background noise. So in a very public way we alert them that we are on to them by increasing the alert, they in turn don't attack, thinking it may be to risky. After awhile the alert goes back down and after awhile they say it is time to attack and the background noise starts again, the alert moves up again, and the game continues. Then we will reverse our strategy, as they will theirs. It is not brilliant, but may prove to be affective to some extent.

my main question is i guess...

why dont we just not tell anyone about our "homeland security"?

they try to attack, we should ALWAYS be on high alert

AND I dont consider my life as a "GAME" (as you stated it) fuck you ur not the bright one kthx

Still don't get it do you. The forces that count are always on high alert, the color code and announcements via the media, are for the consumption of the terrorists, and the public, not for our security. This is my last effort to explain the system to you, and I have a feeling that you still will not get it.
