Legal to use a sponsors content?
 

If a sponsor provided hosted galleries, is it a problem to upload one of the thumbs to your server and link to the gallery?

I've even seen some webmasters upload a graphic from the sponsors tour and use it to promote the website.

Is doing something like fine with most sponsors or would they be pissed for using their content even though your sending traffic to them?

Most sponsors are fine with you using their graphics to promote them. But if you're suffering from massive paranoia (or if you're related to Massive Cock), you might want to get sponsor approval first.

if u can produce signups a sponsor should be only too glad to have you use anything from their site to do the job. Of course this only applies if the site you are promoting makes their own content.

How many signups per day do u think Lightspeed gets to TawneeStone.com from people posting the content all over the Net including Kazaa, WinMx and all the other P2P networks?
A LOT! Ditto for ATK, ALS SCANS, SUZE, KARUPS.
Can't beat those kind of signups - don't have to pay a webmaster 35 bucks or 60% of the take.

Why do so many people ask the board, "Is this okay?" and "Can I do this with so and so's stuff?" when it would be much easier and much much more accurate to simply ask the person or company's opinion really counts. Instead, they ask a bunch of mostly clueless webmasters.

Go figure.

There is legal precedent that says that is fine - there are links somewhere on GFY with the ruling but I am too lazy right now to go searching.

As long as you link back to the original image/site. Google does it by the thousands.
