there used to be a programmer who made progs that would import a pic and turn it into a lavish ascii creation. im pretty sure thats how these were done.

Awesome.

The 1st 2 cheated, though - they just used really small text, and periods and M's - woo hoo - I could do that in 2 seconds.

The 3rd one is cool, since it is actually using large text with a lot of different characters. Back in the DOS days when you could only see 80 chars across, they had to be done this way... I've seen some amazing images before...

(btw, I am aware that these images are probably within 80 chars wide - but they are HUGE. that's the point I was trying to make - it's easy when they are made big)
