Fred Thompson will officially run for president. Odds that he will win?
I just read that Fred Thompson will officially announce he is entering the presidential race on Sept 6th. To me he is nothing special, just another cookie cutter republican, but the christian right loves him, I think, because he is the only candidate that is somewhat like them that has a shot at getting the nomination.
I give him about a 33% chance of getting the republican nomination and if he does get it I give him around a 35% chance of actually winning the presidential election.
Needless to say I'm not as impressed with him as others. To me he just might be this years Howard Dean. He is the hot flavor of the month and is raising some money from non-traditional places, but he has some skeletons in his closet and just may find himself getting his ass kicked early in the primaries.
