WTF? SharkysReviews.com? Why use my name?
 

So I was pointed to a thread on this board and noticed my name in someones sig.. SharkysReviews.com ? I've been contacted by 4 people already asking if it was mine.

What gives man, couldn't find anyone elses name to use who has been in the industry longer than me (11+ years)?!?!?!?!

99% of the industry isn't actually on GFY... believe it or not.
So it's entirely possible that someone just has the same nick name.... as "sharky" isn't exactly the most unique name ever.

When I saw that, I too this was a new venture of yours. In the very least, if this was created by someone who knows a fair amount about this industry, why would they pick a name that would most commonly be associated with you?

Not the same thing I know, but I had an affiliate join a board with the screenname of baddog.

I was able to contact him and asked why he would choose that of all names. "Because it was cool."

Luckily I was able to convince him to turn it over to me and he picked a new name.

Maybe he just thought sharky was a cool name.

I've seen a few different sites with the word "Sly" in the first word, similar to what you are talking about.

Do you honestly think that everybody knows who you are, your history, and what you've done? Come on, really? Most of the people I know and deal with, that do great in this industry and have been around for many years, nobody would ever know.
