customer support question
is this customer correct - he seems to think that there's something i can set on the server that will let him resume broken downloads and the way it is now he can't.
************************************************** * Hello, It is difficult to get the full movies in one chunk, with my slow connection. And I don't have anything to join the sectioned files. Will you please allow resuming of downloads, so that my downloader can begin where it left off, after my connection self-terminates. Thanks, Bryan |
great - post a question that might take a little knowledge to answer and of course there isn't a reply in sight.
|
I think it's a function of his "downloader" actually. For example ws_ftp old versions dont resume, but flashfxp does.
edit: I went to google and typed: download resume http://getright.com/ send him that maybe |
Suggest to him something like this: http://getright.com/
|
that's what i think too but i want to make sure - i put the question to webair support but no reply yet.
|
Yeah, it's gonna be on his end though unless your system somehow names files randomly for download or something I cant imagine..
I remember when xmodem was the shit, then zmodem came along and offered resumeable downloads, and us BBS'ers on 300 baud ate it UP, lol. |
nah - just normal static WMV files.
thanks |
'Bryan' is obviously a pervert, who dares to pay for pornography online.
He should be reported to his ISP immediately, and sent a link to piratebay... These people disgust me. And he expects 'support' too! Perverts like him, (with credit cards) make me sick! |
Actually. For downloads to be resumable the server has to be setup to allow it. It's just that nowadays, all servers are, so it's pretty much moot.
But if you're slef managed and installed kernel yourself (unlikely, unless you co-host or something) you may want to give it a loksie. |
Mutt, I believe that ticket was replied to.
