XTube_Kurtis' God-Son Died Today
 

Kurtis has had to take some time off work this week and asked me to post an update for him.

Kurtis' God-Son died today. He was only 5 years old.

His father was at work when he received the call from the hospital telling him that his son was no longer moving his eyes. He rushed to the hospital to be with him in his last moments - he got to spend 5 precious minutes with his boy before he died.

As I shared this story with my wife we both shared a few tears as we are parents too.

Kurtis' God-Son fought Neuroblastoma for 3 years, but ultimately succumbed to the illness. Kurtis began a few threads to raise awareness and money for this cause. His modest goal of $1000 is close - only a few more to go. If you can find it in your heart and wallet, please consider a donation.

This is very sad. I want to give props to Curtis for his devotion to this cause. I'm shedding a tear right now, as I read this thread, and I share it with you guys. It was nice to meet you over this weekend, you are all great guys who have big hearts...

I don't even want to imagine how painful the loss of a child is. I have 3 children as well, one of them is 4 years old.. So sad that some only get a few years chance in this life :-(

I think that in the most traditional sense a godparent is somehow tied into being a part of the baptism. Could be wrong on that. A wider definition is someone that would look out after the child's interest in the event of the parent(s) death, though being a godparent in and of itself would give you no legal standing to do so.

I would like to thanks everyone for their thoughts, I arrived at the hospital an hour and 40 minutes after Aiden decided that it was his time to go. As I was walking down the hall trying to clear out some of the tears I noticed what the purpose was of that particular wing of the hospital was for. There was 6 other children under the age of 10 in the rooms around us, every last one of them was basically waiting to die from Neuroblastoma. This was a even bigger eye opener to the need to get something done about this condition, I spoke with the nurse and she said that, that night was a slow one and usually 10-14 kids are in there daily to pass. I'm getting my keyboard very wet right now so I have to stop now, thanks again to all that helped and that have included Aiden and his family in there thoughts.
