Dad Shops for Porn, Leaves Baby in Car

No wonder people are loosing faith in society :disgust

A Houston, Pa. man has been charged with child neglect/creating a risk of injury after leaving his16-month-old child inside a locked vehicle while he was shopping at an adult bookstore.

Cpl. Tim Gessler of the Ohio County Sheriff Department arrested Richard Allen Shultz, 23, of Houston, Pa.

According to a sheriff?s department report, dispatch received a call at 6:10 p.m. Saturday that a child had been left unattended in a car at Fritz the Cat Adult Bookstore in Dallas Pike. When Gessler arrived, he found a child ?screaming and crying? in a child seat in the back seat of a 2000 Plymouth Breeze parked at the bookstore. The temperature at the time was in the mid-80s.

According to Gessler, the doors were locked and the windows were up. However, a front window was rolled down far enough that Gessler could reach in the car and unlock the door.

A volunteer fireman from the Clearview Fire Department was on the scene and tended to the 16-month-old child. Officials from the Department of Health and Human Resources Link to story

It's for offenses like this that they should bring back public canings.

(like they do in the Philippines)

He shouldn't have been there in the first place but if he had no choice he should have brought the kid in, that young he wouldn't recognize anything. It wouldn't do any harm to him... like death from heat exhaustion would by leaving the kid in a car in the heat of the summer.

If the people running the store had a clue they wouldn't have let him in with the kid. We used to get people trying to bring infants and young kids all the time into our stores and we would boot them before they made it past the front counters. The cops would cite us no matter how young the kids were. Then they would leave and come right back in, and I would go out and see the kids in the car in the middle of a combat zone neighborhood, and then boot the parents again and tell them to come back without the kids. The sad thing is this was a weekly occurrence, at least 3-4 times a week...

This sort of thing was normal back in the 50's. Except the Dad would have been sitting in the bar. lol

SmokeyTheBear 08-27-2007 10:11 PM

i like how the cop exagerates lol

"the doors were locked and the windows up"

"a front window was rolled down far enough that Gessler could reach in the car and unlock the door."

dunno why people try to overplay things.

it either was rolled up or it wasnt it can't be both

anyways any father should know better..

it will suck in 20 years when that kid google's dads name one time.

Sounds like you guys should have opened a room next door providing 10 min daycare services for $20 a pop.

no the assholes would have still probably left the kids in the car to save the money.

This isn't just porn, i've heard people leave the kids in the car while they run into the OTB, etc..

My girlfriend and I were out with our 8 month old son one day at the mall... she had to go get some stuff from the adult store for a bachelorette party so we went and my son and I stayed in the car and she ran in. The store is more of a stripper store then anything, but they do carry dildos and whatnot, and some DVD's in a back room.

So I'm sitting there in the car, and these two redneck trailer trash parents go past my car with their what looks like a 2 year old in a stroller, and head on in.

I thought it was pretty fucking odd if you ask me.
