Is The PSP Lite Available In The US Yet ??
Think they are due out here soon.
Anyone from here own one ?? I've been trying to find out a few things about them. I heard the battery life was actually worse. True ?? I guess they will be more expensive aswell... |
I heard mid-September they're releasing in NA.
Price point should be the same if not cheaper. I've seen it advertised as low as $169 up to the standard $199. There's talk about two models, the PSP Lite and the PSP Slim, but it appears it may only be color related. The 'Lite' is Silver, and will be first one available in September. The Black 'Slim' will be available at the end of September, and in October, a white color along with a limited 'Darth Vader' edition will debut. You have to buy the component cable to connect it to the TV/Monitor. The battery life is said to be around 4 - 6hrs. Overall, the real changes outside of the smaller, lighter design are: the increased onboard Flash memory, the ability to connect it to your TV, and you can now charge it via USB. A few other design changes, as the Wi-Fi switch is up top along with the speakers now, and the D-pad is a bit nicer on the thumb (or so they say). |
This is the first I've heard of it but it looks pretty sweet like the ds lite

That's a fake. The new PSP will have a similar design to the old one.

There isn't any LITE and SLIM. All the new PSPs are called the same name. PSP 2000. The differnce in price is that one comes with just the PSP the other comes with a 2 GB memory stick, Dater game and a Family Guy movie. Then there is teh Star Wars version that comes out later that comes with a Star wars game. They all have the same name though. http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=U...reativ e=9325 |

http://gear.ign.com/articles/804/804856p1.html - Slim http://stuff.tv/Review/id-6649/ - Slim & Lite http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/breaking/...ame-277336.php - Slim and Lite The Lite references in many of the articles seem to be interchanged with Slim. Its either one of the names they were looking at calling it, or it was in reference to one of the colors. And just for reference GatorB, there's no way Sony will call it the PSP 2000 or PSP 2001 that has been mentioned in older articles. That makes it sound old, and it is something you do not want to do in the gaming world. Just look at the Xbox 360. It will be called the PSP Slim, just like they did with the PS2 Slim. |
By the way, does anybody with a current PSP plan on upgrading their old one to a slim one, and fancy selling me their old PSP?
|
I like mine, but I wouldn't upgrade or buy another one unless it came with a HDD.

I only use my PSP when on a flight, so not sure what the advantage of having a slimmer one is.
