Lasik eye surgery anyone?

Has anyone ever had Lasik eye surgery, I am young but thinking about it because Im tired of using contacts to see well. Any experiences with this procedure?

Airek and I both got it done, and so far so good, its been about 7 years now and it is an amazing change.

It's great in that you do not have to wear glasses though I've been told that there are a few issues. One is a halo effect around lights, two is a dramatic decrease in seeing at night, and three is it's surgical, so once you do it you can't go back.

Sounds kinda scary

I've been thinking about getting it done too. I know all about the scare stories and even seen a documentary which showed it being done and that doesn't bother me. I guess with any kind of surgery that isn't life threatening you have to role the dice and hope for the best. Though it kinda sucks that you might be paying good money only to screw up your eyesight.

I'm young..20 and I just had lasik...I love it. I'm so happy with the results ( I sound like a commercial..haha) My eye sight is better than 20/20..Do it!

don't know anyone who made a lasik eye but if you want to make one good luck

Just remember, contacts are cheaper. And they have ones that are FDA approved to leave in for 30 days straight.

Jim_Gunn 08-24-2007 03:07 PM

Don't do it, it's too dangerous and those are your eyes! There are a lot more complications than you would think and you can't undo it. You are better off with daily disposable contacts, that way you always have fresh ones.

Hubby did it last year and he's now 33 - he kicks himself in the ass for not doing it sooner. Since he hated wearing glasses, it was a dramatic change for him to actually be able to see the world clearly.

Everyone I know that has gotten it said it's not bad at all. I guess it's the best thing you can do for yourself if you have bad vision.

I just had it done about 4 months ago, the main reason I went through with it was because my contacts really bothered me while playing hockey ond surfing. They told me before hand that the best that I could expect would be 20/25. Now 4 months later I have perfect 20/20 and couldn't be happier.

just remember if they fuck it up, you gonna stay blind for the rest of your life

is it really worth the risk?

mikaels 08-24-2007 03:30 PM

I had it done and I love not having to wear glasses....

silvercash amber 08-24-2007 03:38 PM

It's so automatic these days. It's quick and painless, from what I've heard from people who have done it. I can't wait to do it. Just need to save up the money.

I definetely recommend to pay the money to see someone who is good rather then the places that post coupons in the paper.

pixiewillow 08-24-2007 03:39 PM

I've thought about getting it done, but my husband likes the nerdy look I have going with my glasses
