Do you buy "Made in China"?
Every day there seems to be a new story about products made in China being dangerous. Add that to the fact most things that come from China are poorly made with cheap parts IMO.
I would gladly pay extra for North American made goods knowing that they would fall under stricter enviromental and health regulations. Do you care where things are made? |
i bought today 40k tft monitors made in china :)
|
My girlfriend is made in china. All her parts are fine.
|
I think majority of the shit sold in america was made in china. I'de rather by slightly higher priced better made / safer stuff

^^ . |
Its not so much as where they are made, its that the companies that are making them are trying to turn a higher profit. So they are using cheaper parts or paints etc.
|
Its hard not to buy things in china but will be looking more closely at where things are made now. Maybe this will get some manufacturers to think twice about using cheap labour.

I don't.. They can be cheap but low of quality.. Just a waste of money..
|
LOL funny thread...
Even funnier the good old "I stick with Made in US"...naive to the extreme... Ignorance is bliss... |
can one even surf the net and not?
|
i buy whatever i like. whether it's made in china or made in your moms ass:tongue:
|
The mouse im using right now is made in china, and its high end. So is the keyboard and the monitor.
|
Lest you want to live in a cardboard box
|
Personally i dont care where it was made as long as i like it
|
If I didn't buy anything that was "made in china" then I wouldn't own anything. When is the last time you honestly saw something stamped "made in the usa" that wasn't a flag or some ultra shitty paper product (like a dollar tree gift box)?
|
My shoes are made from china.
|
I buy all my lead based products from China. No complaints yet.
|
I live in the U.S.
Do you realize what a pain in my ass it'd be if I refused to buy products made in China? |
When I was younger my parents bought me a knock off cabbage patch doll made in China. I tried to change his shirt and his head came off :(
|
i don't. i'm cautious.
|
if its not made in China I won't buy it
have you seen the high-speed train they made in Shanghai??? 30 or so kilometers railroad, deviation in height - less than a millimeter, white people can't do that. EVER!!! |
You forgot to mention that buying from China may also fund a potential military adversary.
Did you hear about the recent join military exercises between China and Russia? |

Years ago I boycotted any product made in China. Now if yo try to do the same you will find it difficult to survive, everything seems to be made in China. If you don't like it boycott Walmart they forced US manufacturers to move to China or lose their contracts. Walmart is the largest buyer of made in China goods in the world.
|
Pretty much everything is made there....
|
Do you think Chinese products are becoming more dangerous or do you think Americans are just becoming more picky/prissy?
I think if we're about to start complaining about small things like magnets and trace amounts of lead in the paint on toys we should probably take a look at bigger problems including the number 1 killer, poor diet and lack of exercise... |

There's a book that was written about a family that tried not to buy or use anything from China or Chinese parts and found in the US, its almost 100% impossible to do...
If you think you can do it, start by throwing out just about all your electronics including your computer because it has Chinese parts in it... Then hope you don't like DVDs, CDs or any other media... All made in China. Clothes such as socks and underwear almost impossible not have it made there.... Premade foods almost all have Chinese ingredients, oh yea, no automobiles either... and the list goes on and on...:pimp |
I think no matter what you going to buy it's made in china. After all most of big world companies moved their facilites to china.
|
not anymore....
|
for years, whenever possible i try not to buy "made in china"
its pretty hard not to buy anything not made in china tho :( i'd much rather pay more to buy a usa made product |
I don't think I have anything that is not made in China.
|
When I buy stuff, I don't look at where its made from

China does have nuclear weapons with a range which can reach virtually every corner of every nuclear power US, Russia, UK and France blah. But... don't feel threatened - Chinese wisdom prevails. A Chinese military strategist, Sun Tzu, circa 2300 years ago had a lesson - if you cannot win a battle, do NOT fight it. Need a copy to send to the Pentagon??? *lol* Meanwhile the Central Bank of China is still lending the US govt $3-4 billion/day to support your lifestyle :thumbsup |

Exactly! Any multi-national worth five cents has production capacity in China or somewhere in Asia. |

and Invention" (Robert Templeton) worth a read :thumbsup Modern day China is concentrating on being the largest economic and industrial powerhouse the planet has ever seen - a modest ambition :-) |
Its not the chinese's its american business who want to pay nothing to have things made.It forces these guys to bid lower and lower to get the contract.Which feeds cutting corners.
For some reason Americans think its their god given right to pay the lowest price possible for everything and then have the balls to bitch when the quality is shit. |
Almost everything is made in China... you have no choice these days
|
yeah, lots of them are out in the market.........
gadgets, clothing, toys everything...... |
LOL dangerous goods? I see the propaganda machine got to you... It's scary how easy some people can get influenced.
