tehHinjew 08-23-2007 10:22 PM

sucks to be you lol

leedogg 08-23-2007 10:29 PM

He probably thought his nines were good and you were trying to push him round?

No action before the flop suggest no solid pocket pairs. You limped in from bb so he put you on rags anyway.

Your bet was was ridiculously large given the pot - so personally I think he perhaps has the right to call.

I dunno - personally I wouldn't have called it - but I can see circumstances where had I seen you play a little more I might have called too. That $300 he put in may have been the last of $5g he blew that day........

But overall it is gut busting when you get sucked out like that. Kinda like getting a whore in Thailand and finding out they have a cock..........

BusterBunny 08-23-2007 10:41 PM

send me some before you blow it all this time ;)

lol yeah from 1,500$ thru 300 :helpme

BusterBunny 08-23-2007 10:53 PM

well 2k is better than 16k so i guess you are improving :P

sonofsam 08-23-2007 10:56 PM

What a donkey call.. but if hes playing 10/20 NL with only 300 bucks, like leedogg said, hes probably already lost 5k and is just getting rid of the rest of it to call it a night.

sonofsam 08-23-2007 11:01 PM

If you bet 20.. then he raised to 80.. that should have been a sign that if you called or raised, that you had him beat... since you went all in , he should have at bare minimum put you on AT LEAST a pair of nines (let alone gutshot or open ender or maybe a paint pocket pair, set etc...) he must have been pretty confident with his 4 kicker :1orglaugh

I gave up online poker for good last week after a hand where I started with QQ, the guy before me had A10d and the guy after me had k7os. A10 raises to 21, I reraise to 50, K7 calls?

A10 reraises again to 120, I call, k7 GOES ALL IN for 400 something, me and the other guy both call, k7 wins with a straight on the river.

I've had so many bad beats online that I just don't trust it anymore. I looked into who does the auditing of the software, and I couldn't find any sites where US players could play that had a good auditor. I really think it's rigged now. Good thing I live in Vegas.

How have you done overall in the last six months or so?

With some hands, i really wonder sometimes.. and i WAY rather play IN casino face to face...

I had cowboys and went all in preflop, like 700 and something... (overbet i know... but i always get busted with cowboys and rockets... so i wanted to steal all the blinds and go on to the next flop... already was 120 in the pot preflop) and this guy calls me with Q6 offsuit... and somehow hits a boat.. That was a hand i had to walk away from my computer because of, or i would have tilted like a motherfucker and probably bought back in 3-4 times and lost it all :1orglaugh

Violetta 08-23-2007 11:46 PM

are you generally loosing or winning?

Snake Doctor 08-24-2007 12:30 AM

I agree that was a bad beat...but man, why in the fuck would you push $1980 over the top of an $80 bet? That's a scary board, he could have flipped over pocket 7's to stack you or had J8 for the nut straight.

Well I guess that's one way to look at it.

Thing to remember is that when you make a bet like that, the only person that can call you is someone that can beat you (or someone who's on drugs like the guy in this hand...but we should assume that people in a $10/20NL game are somewhat rational)

It's quite a -EV bet because you'll almost never get paid off when you're ahead, and you'll lose your whole stack when you're behind. :2 cents:

You live in Vegas and you play online Poker? That just sounds strange.
If you are the same guy that I think you are, you used to use our services years ago. Is that you..AgeCheck, CyberAge? You used to do really well with us until you started your own processing. Right?

The site url rang a bell. :thumbsup

I was in Indiana visiting the fam, and I love to lay in bed in my undies and play poker. From now on I'm strictly in the casino though.

too risky if you'd ask me

Red Ezra 08-24-2007 01:29 AM

i think online poker pays off the fish so they continue to chase hands - going all in without a kicker there is insane - even more insane is the runner runner boat - but - I have seen it before - and it was online everytime - i gave that shit up last year - I suggest everyone do the same

SpaceAce 08-24-2007 01:45 AM

Your opponent's call was silly but your push sucked balls, too. Pushing 10x the pot there guarantees you win the least and lose the most with those two pair hands in the long run.

Just make a note on the guy and wait for another big hand.

SpaceAce

leedogg 08-24-2007 03:24 AM

I just got a hell of a bad beat myself
Suck balls
Luckily with tournament play (I never play cash) it's never too bad

VicD 08-24-2007 04:49 AM

too much of a gamble

ADL Josh 08-24-2007 08:19 AM

yeah, that is a little fucked up! horrible call with second pair!!

Rankings 08-24-2007 09:13 AM

thats pretty sick, but you have to be very curious to why he called your re-raise whe he was sitting on bottom pair with no kicker.. very odd

Martin 08-24-2007 09:20 AM

Bad bet, bad call, bad beat....

Im on a horrible down swing right now myself online and live games. I had pockets aces 3 times Wed at my poker club's cash game and all 3 times they got cracked. Was at Casino Rama on the weeked, sit down at a 1-2 NL table and the first hand I get when I sit down is pocket kings. Im thinking nice start. Dude beside me raises to 10, I come over top of him 40, he smooth calls, flop 10, 10, 8. He checks, I bet out 60, he goes allin I have to call, priced in only 20 more for me to call. He shows A10 off. DOH!! I know it happens all the time but I havent had a big pocket pair hold up in a long time. :(((

CaptainHowdy 08-24-2007 09:26 AM

Now I see why gamble it's not for me...

I was going to post something similar... You hit the nail on the head :thumbsup

I personally can't stand playing online at all, way too much bullshit.

It wasn't the bottom pair :2 cents:

I think leedogg's right... the lack of action probably just made him think he was good - especially if you'd been playing loose before that hand - and he didn't want to be pushed out... you play the player as much as the cards you have, I'm sure you don't have to be told.

Crazy shit happens in poker. I won a small tourney the other night on the river card when my pre-flop all-in pocket 2's made a flush against pocket Aces.

RawAlex 08-24-2007 11:25 AM

50 cents rake on $895 pot? Who's zooming who?

polle54 08-24-2007 11:27 AM

You should be glad it was a shortie that sucked out like that on you mate :)

and what the hell are you doing playing 10/20????

with under $50k on your account that's a really bad idea.

Also do you have any idea how experienced you have to be to be a winning player on $10/20?

drop down to $1/2 and play 9 tables and grind the fuck away :)

I thought most people living in Vegas don't gamble, but I guess playing poker isn't Gambling (So that's what I hear) :1orglaugh

Dagwolf 08-24-2007 01:58 PM
