Sorry its just really annoying. I cringe everytime I start to hear it. I cant hit mute fast enough:mad:

Nothing against any of the programs themselves, but banners with sound suck balls, imho.

I use Adblock Plus on Firefox and I never have to deal with ANY of the bullshit banners...

It scares me at 4 am when I have headphones on. "Oh hay, look at all the new posts HOLY SHIT WHERE IS THAT VOICE COMING FROM!?!"

It's the sole reason I don't support them. It drives me insane. If it stopped on mouse out, I'd be fine with it.

No less than 20 threads have been posted JUST for the Duke Dollars banner. Feel free to bump an old one next time it irks you :winkwink:

It's also the sole reason I have no sent them sales as well. I've blown 2 sets of high end PC speakers (totaling $1,000) on that banner, while having normal music cranked all the way up. It blew the tweeters, not the bass of course.

Other than that I like their program & their employees quite a bit.

But its time for it to go :thumbsup

I think it's great, the more threads about it, the harder Duke is laughing. mention his program and plenty of people will click until it shows up.

I actually had to choose between them and another program for a spot on one of my sites. Chose the other simply because I hate that banner so much. :-)

you have zero sense of marketing. You are assuming its viral marketing technique? lol .. its the shittiest technique, even if you call it viral.

And at the end, I, myself, never did and will never send them a single hit just because of that banner. If a program don't care about its webmasters, webmasters also stay as away as fuck from them ..

Seriously people.. if your surfing GFY with IE... its time to switch - I have personally NEVER heard or seen that banner so I have no clue about how annoying it is, but i'm not about to open IE just to experience it.

The problem with that banner is that it fucks over other advertisers. More people turn on AdBlock and never have their banner seen.

That's my exact objection to it - sure, banners with sound are annoying, but at least the other advertisers have figured that it's better to turn the sound off on mouseout.
