UFC predictions?

Well the big PPV is on Saturday. I like Couture but I think that giant Gonzaga is going to destroy him. He managed to make Crocop look like a chump.

St Pierre vs Koscheck is also going to be a great match.

Any thoughts?

notoldschool 08-23-2007 10:04 PM

Im thinking Gonzaga because his ground game is so good and I dont think Randy can stand with him. But never count out Randy. Im even more excited to see my man Koscheck pummle St Peire. Awesome cards in the three events this month.

steved 08-23-2007 11:01 PM

Gabriel Gonzaga is a monster, and he trains at the same school I do in Ludlow, MA, so I'm hoping he wins. Randy is awesome though!

Evil E 08-23-2007 11:05 PM

I'm sure that Randy will have difficulties against Gonzaga if he brings it to the ground.

Also, i'm pretty sure that josh "the blanket" koscheck will be act like a blanket again... but GSP will be the one over him.

Wow, that was very clever. I could suck a million dicks and that wouldn't change the fact that you are a broke, sad little bitch that tries to belittle people on here to hide the fact that he cries himself to sleep at night. Now run along and get me some fries with that, cunt.

Vitasoy 08-23-2007 11:21 PM

Randy Couture
Roger Huerta
Georges St-Pierre
Joe Stevenson
Patrick Cote
Ryan Jensen
Renato Sobral
Frank Mir
Marcus Aurelio

I'm leaning over to Gonzango. As much as Randy has evolved over the years, so has Gabriel, and in a shorter period of time. Put in the age difference, and I see Gabriel as the new champ.

Kos is gonna get his head taken off if GSP is on his A game.

More important, Din Thomas is gonna get the win, and Marcus "Maximus" Auerilio said to me, "I'm gonna grab Clay Guida's hair, and cross choke him".

WAR ATT!

Brad 08-24-2007 08:17 AM

For old time sake and because I like to root for the underdog sometime (and he proved me wrong against Silvia) I am going to go for Couture.

GSP is going to ruin Koschecks world. I see Koscheck going for a take down and GSP landing a left and right hook followed by a knee to the face, and a few more punches on the ground and it's lights out Koscheck.

Stevenson is the obvious choice.

I ant to see Cote win because he's a fellow Canuck and because I think it would be a morale booster for GSP, but I am feeling Grove in this one.

Huerta is again the obvious choice for me.

And in the undercard, I'm picking:
Sobral
Mir
Aurelio
Jensen

Vegas Ken 08-24-2007 08:35 AM

Here are my pics....

Couture - Got to go with the champ. I know he is the underdog, but he lives down the street from me so you have to support the neighborhood.

Huerta
GSP - He is going to destroy Kos
Stevenson
Grove
Jensen
Sobral
Hardonk
Guida

SykkBoy 08-24-2007 08:38 AM

It's a great card up and down, I'll have to lean slightly towards Gonzaga over Couture and give GSP the edge.

Video Rob 08-24-2007 08:44 AM

My money is on Gonzaga and St-Pierre. But who knows what will happen

jobs 08-24-2007 08:48 AM

Couture has suprised me last few fights...i think he is over matched however, i just can't bet against couture...he seems to pull it off everytime.

couture

kos is a punk but i have to give it to him. shoot- then ground and pound...those wrestlers are just studs on the ground. Not to mention kos looks decent on his feet now too.

soo unfortuneatly-> kos

GSP is going to destroy Kos. Like every wrestler he's beaten.

Just as an aside, how many MMA organizations are there? I was watching WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting) yesterday and there were some fighters there that left UFC to fight in WEC.

Drake 08-24-2007 10:41 AM

Gonzaga and St-Pierre are my picks

WEC is owned by Zuffa, who owns the UFC.

Zuffa also owns PRIDEFC out of Japan.

The main orgs now in no particular order:

UFC
K1 Heroes
BoDog
IFL

To an extent WEC as well.

Brother Bilo 08-24-2007 10:44 AM

I got St Pierre for sure, he's the only French Canadien I like. I think if Couture has his shit together, he can take Gonzaga, but he suprised the shit out of me against Krocop, so who knows.

Jim_Gunn 08-24-2007 10:52 AM

I love Randy, but I think Gonzonga will take the belt. Should be a good fight though. Kos is tough but GSP should pull it out. On another note- WEC is getting really interesting, especially in the lighter weight classes. There's two title fights on the WEC card to be broadcast on Versus Sept. 5th. Check your local listings.

RawAlex 08-24-2007 11:49 AM

My Predictions: Someone will bleed. Someone will kick another guy, They will spend too much time on the ground looking like they are about to need lube. There will be long periods of talking between fights that will last only one round. The ring girls will have fake boobs.

Someone will issue a challenge for the next event, WWE style.

Lance69 08-24-2007 12:12 PM

Oh Shit! This is a funny pic!
I think it'll be technical for a bit until GSP feels out Koscheck enough to Knock him out.
The Main event I've still gotta go with Randy, he's far to smart not to have a solid game plan. But either way I believe Gonzaga will be champ at some point, just not now. :thumbsup

Yeah, because grappling and knowing how to fight on the ground is irrelevant in today's world.

I don't believe for a minute that the cops only choice was to put the guy in a choke hold. He seemed to be in an awful rush to get to that point.

I hope no one throws a chair in the ring.

SilkyJohnson 08-24-2007 01:09 PM

I like GSP over KosFuck...I'm rooting for that French Canadian cause he seems like a good dude in victory and defeat.

Gonzaga/Couture is gonna be a good fight I believe...I can see Couture going the distance with him like sloppy ass Sylvia. I'm looking forward to it for sho.

I like Kendall Grove over Cote....don't like either of them but I have a feeling Grove's height will prevail.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Guida fight again, that guy is a little fucking ball of energy man...no breaks when you're fighting him. I just wish he'd do something with his fucking hair...shit has got to get in his way.

You must be bored because posting this garbage shows that you must be a fucking pussy that has never done anything athletic in your life. You sir are a wannabe webmaster so whos calling the kettle black?

I also love you guys spouting off about how koscheck will be dominated by st. Peirre because he wrestles and then you pick Couture to beat Gonzage when he is just wrestler. Koscheck might be the best wrestler in all of MMA and has the credentials to prove it. His hands have gotten way above average in the 5 or 6 years he has been in UFC. Just ask the formerly undefeated Diego Sanchez. His body is just as good as st pierre and if it goes to the ground st pierre can kiss it bye bye.

Oh yeah, beat on the guy a bit, then cuff him, eh?

No physical damage, and perp handcuffed.

Gonzaga over Couture
3rd round KO
I want Couture to win but I don't see it. I won't bet on it cause I won't bet against Couture sense the T. Sylvia win, lol.

Also don't be surprised if Brock Lesnar is signed by UFC today or early tomorrow and he comes to the ring after the main event. I know he is in Vegas now and Dana stated they were going to meet on a contract.

GSP over Koscheck
2nd round KO
I am betting on Koscheck cause I see this fight being closer than most think. But if money was even I would go with GSP. Granted GSP likes beating up wrestlers, lol.

Stevenson over Pelegrino
2nd round sub
I know I write Stevenson will win but I am betting on Pelegrino cause the line is too good. I give Pelegrion a better chance than what the oddsmakers give him.

Grove over Cote
3rd round KO
I got to give it to Grove, met him at AVN in January and he was a cool guy. I think he will win regardless but the line is way too much in his facor to bet.

Huerta over Crane
1st round sub
This line is HUGE in the favor of Huerta so I won't bet on it. If you want to win a lot and really want to gamble with it, place it on Crane. Who knows maybe he is the next Houston Alexander.

Guida over Aurelio
2nd round submission
Fight is way to close to bet on, only reason I picked Guida is Aurelio has not been in a ring/cage in awhile, least that I know of.

Mir over Hardonk
1st round sumbission
Could be a little money, but I hate betting on favorites

Sobral over Heath if even money
I think thie fight is close, even money I would pick Sobral. Because of the line I am betting on Heath, hopefully he can take him out in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Leites over Jenson....
1st round sumbission
I would not bet on it cause the line is no good

So those are my picks.....

evildick 08-25-2007 09:03 PM

GSP owned Koscheck pretty good.

evildick 08-25-2007 09:33 PM

Couture pulled it off again. Totally smashed that guy's face.

mykel 08-25-2007 09:36 PM

Love the fight! Couture totally owned Gonzaga there.

Lance69 08-26-2007 01:06 AM

Wow, that was well worth the price of the PPV! Gonzaga destroyed, (but still showed heart after the broken nose), and GSP folding the blanket and putting him away! Once again proving his incredible mat skills against even world class wrestlers!

GSP is the man, he's earned my respect...in victory and in defeat he is a respectable man that makes no excuses and doesn't like to talk shit. This has even allowed me to put aside the fact that he is French Canadian and support him.

Brad 08-27-2007 09:27 AM

By far the best UFC event of the year. GSP winning was awesome, but expected. I was kind of hoping for a KO victory, but watching him dominate Koscheck was entertainment enough. Look out Hughes, GSP is coming for his title. Cote winning was a bonus. We are reminded once again to never doubt Couture. What more can you ask for?

Anthony 08-27-2007 10:47 AM

Koscheck

"He's gonna out wrestle me? I've been wrestling since I was five."

First 30 seconds of the first round, GSP takes Koscheck down. :)

It's wrestling with punches and kicks used to set up these take downs. Changes things dramatically. I loved every minute of it! :thumbsup
