*GREAT TOOL* see where your surfers are clicking in realtime.
I never actually tried one of these click visualizers although they have been around for a while, installed one an hour ago on my Ex Girlfriend Revenge site Revengetv.com, check out the screenshot:
http://www.revengetv.com/clickheat.jpg Notice all the clicks are pretty much where you'd expect it except for the one greener dot in the text area (second paragraph on the top rightish). Well it was a typo of "theres" instead of "there's", and the surfers constantly clicked on the thing.. So that tells me if I want some link to get more clicks, simply misspell it lol!! Seriously, this tool is great for figuring out which thumb surfers like most in a multi thumb graphic, seeing what areas of your free site the surfers don't go near or love. it's free and easy to install: http://www.labsmedia.com/clickheat/index.html there's more advanced verison that cost money, but the free version does pretty good for me. |
damn that looks great :) Thanks for the link going there now. :)

Very nice. I have been meaning to implement one of these things all year.

it's a sweet tool. I've noticed a lot of clicks on white spaces (prob accidental clicks) on my sites, so I've added banners/thumbs to those spaces.

Awesome tool

Were trying it out on our Exit pages to see what gets clicks and what doesnt.

lol yea. I saw a massive amounts of clicks at the top right hand corner and thought they were missing the "close window button", but then realized not everyone has mouse wheel :) |
I think alot of the ones that are waaaaay out in no where land also are people using various kinds of scrolling methods, including the ones where you just click on the page and it holds and drags it..
funniest thing ever is on pages with clips people are jerking to, there are waay more stray clicks from them surfing with one hand lol. |
Wow only a couple hours and i'm seeing things I NEVER knew was happening... and since I run a directory style freesite with a hundred models featured, its interesting to see what's getting clicks and what's being ignored. Very interesting indeed and not what I originally thought - ill let it run for a few days and see whats most popular and start working from there :)
|
Wow. I will give it a try.
|
that's very cool tool! thx! :)

I've used crazy egg a lot for this and results always suprised me, gives a much better idea of where people are actually clicking rather than you just guess. If there are a few I would recommend anyone to use them.
|
We're installing it now on a test environment to see if it really doesn't increase server load. Looks pretty good so far.
