I had some time today thinking about religion and porn. Since we're in porn how does it interfere with our believes? Guess many of us have choosen either not to think about it or just see no problem in it. I was fighting myslef that everything I do it's because people want it and business success comes first. Don't think I'm a religious fanatic or something just sometimes it gets to thinking that I could have choosen another way, a God's approved kinda. In short, do you feel 'guilty' a little doing porn?

Personally I think that if you're ripping off the surfer then you're not being honest and religion tells us that's wrong. I see nothing wrong from a religious stand point in selling images of beautiful naked people.Comment

Hey, if hitmen for the mob can be religious then so can anyone here. I'm pretty sure if there was a list of offenses in heaven, porn would be much lower than murder or making cement shoes for a guy and tossing him into the river.

I dont think the two things clash at all honestly. Everyone draws a personal line somewhere after all. I remember a while back, a group was pissed because a Victoria's Secret in a mall had displays of lingerie on mannequins in it's windows(duh, of course) and there were benches outside where people would sit. Well they protested because sometimes kids would sit there and look at lingerie on mannequins.
Also, have you noticed that one of the things with religion is that all you need to do is confess your sins, and you are absolved? This leads a lot of people to not worry so much about lying, stealing, cheating and such, because then they confess and are back to square 1. Massive hypocrisy. In that sense, religion enables bad behavior with the promise of absolution. Disturbing. Some faiths anyway..

I think "Western" religions have caused so much of the unhealthy sexual expression because they made people believe their own sexuality is wrong. Most of this stems from a desire to not do selfish or harmful things and sex is such a strong motivational force that it can lead people to some unkind actions. But repressing it makes these things happen more often and more in the extreme. So I think that the typical religious repression of sex has caused more of the thing it was intended to stop.
What bothers me is that HURTING people has become ENTERTAINMENT. You can watch a guy shoot a chick full of bullets in the chest on any given night on any tv station. But if he's kissing those same breasts and trying to make her feel good it's considered obscene. THAT is fucking crazy IMHO.
