Apparently, with 177 nationalities, Amsterdam is the most multicultural city in the world, followed by Antwerp (164) and NYC (150).

Surprising.

If Amsterdam is the most multi-cultural city they certainly hide it well. Just wearing a baseball hat some local people looked at us like we were from another planet! There's no way it beats out Toronto, where every other person is from another place

Its nothing to be proud of. Foreigners are all over holland and its a big problem - all the people see it, but the government plays dumb because somehow they still believe in the fairytale of a properly functioning multicultural society. Something that has failed at least for as long as i live. It doesn't work!
But tell that to our government - the biggest pussy government of the world.

Ehm, in Amsterdam, every other person is from another country as well. Literally. As in, 52% of the people in Amsterdam are native Dutch. The other 48% are either immigrants or the children of immigrants.

As for the baseball hat thing... I call bullshit. If people were looking at you like you were from another planet, there was something else going on.

actually most get along pretty well, just a few groups fuck it up for the rest like always.

The only problems with different cultures we have, is if they are heavily concentrated in certain areas. Overall, Amsterdam is a very relaxed environment you can chill at :)
