Is it ok to make money from selling rape domains?

Just came across this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=4215761

Rapes.us for sale sold as an 'adult' domain.

What do you think of low life domainers selling rape and other disgusting shit?

I wish AlleyBucks would sodomize the seller.

anyway, youre gonna get banned for linking to other forum

nico-t 08-22-2007 04:51 AM

simulated rape is a fetish, what's wrong with it?

http://www.melonfarmers.co.uk/arwhitep.htm
The content of every single adult tape manufactured by the legitimate adult video industry on the shelves of every video and adult store in the nation involves only consenting adults. Roughly 90% of the material produced and distributed over the past 14 years contains mainstream sexual acts (oral sex, anal sex, group sex, etc.). Adult movies do not contain rape, coerced sex, sex with animals, violence, incest or child pornography. The other 10% of the material available is classified as specialty material (i.e., foot fetish, tickling fetish, bondage, spanking, etc.) which does not contain explicit sex, but which still involves consenting adults.

Sounds like many people here make a living from sick incest/animal/rape videos, you are giving the industry a bad name. So GFY.

You're not too bright.

Sarah_Jayne 08-22-2007 05:04 AM

'rape us' no wonder somebody bought it...though I personally wouldn't want anything to do with it

No, I'd venture to say that not one person that has posted in this thread does make a cent from it, much less a living.

It's just that the sale of the domain name isn't worth condemning them. There's no telling what the domain will actually be used for.

Take www.omfg.com for example. What would you expect to find there?

Agreed. Sure, you may not agree with the fetish, but as long as you are comfortable running a business around it, and place a disclaimer somewhere stating that it's all simulated along with the appropriate releases and 2257 documents, I don't see why not.

The only real argument against it that most people will bring up is "What if people start to copy it?", but by that token, what if people switch on the TV and start mugging, killing, burgling, or worse still, taking twelve random people from the street and putting them together in a house watched by cameras for a few months?

:2 cents:

rape.us - what a great concept

a couple, married or whatever, invites their members to come fuck them

It depends where you are. Don't start a "simulated rape" site in Canada, you will likely end up in serious legal trouble. Or you could end up like Tom Gartman in the US, in jail and getting it from Bubba twice daily for selling rape videos.

Why do it? Sex is suppose to be fun and enjoyable.

It's a domain... it's not hurting anyone.

Violetta 08-22-2007 09:09 AM

I guess that is the dirty side of this biz

Aquarius 08-22-2007 09:18 AM

Just a fantasie.

tomeatsdinner 08-22-2007 10:21 AM

No problem if it will make awareness to people..

teg0 08-22-2007 10:22 AM

I don't see anything wrong with it. Its the content that matters.

Forkbeard 08-22-2007 10:22 AM

I wouldn't put that domain in my adult portfolio, not so much because it would be inherently evil to put an adult site there -- I don't have a moral problem with that, if the site were appropriate -- but because it would create business and PR hassles from people like the narrow minded idiot who started this thread.

I do have ravishers.com in my portfolio, which is really just a Victorian-era synonym for "rapists" -- but it's got that great bodice-ripping "he overwhelmed me with his lusts, I nearly swooned, I begged him to stop but I hoped he wouldn't" cheesy romance connotation. I think it would be a great site for selling something like (or perhaps a bit softer than) Sex And Submission to women.

Lastly, the reason I'm calling the OP a narrow-minded idiot is because he's forgotten the immortal words of Benjamen Franklin:
Quote:

Gentlemen, we must all hang together. If we do not? We shall most assuredly all hang separately.
Whatever your problems with other people in this industry, it makes zero sense for us to go around attacking each other like rabid weasels trapped in a gunny sack. We've got enough external enemies without stirring up internal crap.

And I'm sure the people who are in to simulated rape find it fun and enjoyable, otherwise they wouldn't do it.
