A questions for the Toronto crew...

I need a bit of advice from the Toronto crew. I'm in town now and I'd like to take the wife and kids for a long weekend in the country somewhere not too terribly far. I'd prefer to rent a secluded cottage on a lake or something similar, can anyone local make any recommendations?

As a side note the the FLASHC$H T.O. office is nearly ready for business, so we will be throwing an office warming party. Drop me a note to make sure I get you the details as they come together.

Ciao,
Buddy

Deerhurst is lovely... Somewhere in the Muskokas is great.

best place to go is a place called Pefferlaw just north of Toronto about 45 mins or so
Perfect for the kids the lake is only 2-3 feet deep and the water is warm
Perfect for a picnic for the day

Definitely Muskokas is nice, there's plenty of resorts in the area. Just a bit of a drive (I'm thinking 2 hours for sure, but don't quote me on that).

Congrats on the new office too, first I've heard :)
Love to come by when you have the party

Muskoka is nice like others have said but it's a little to built up. If you looking for something a little more secluded try up in the Bancroft area, roughly 2.5-3/hrs away; maybe Paudash lake. I can remember some good times in that area as a child.

Just stay away from Wasaga.

Craigslist - Toronto has great places you can find. Here is the link...

Muskoka is really pretty although I am not sure that there is anywhere left there that is secluded per se. It is really crowded on the main lakes.

I would try to go towards Haliburton which is a lil' further but not so populated: http://www.haliburtoncottages.com/rentallistings.htm
