School Web Site Name Similar to Porn Site
 

There's a problem with porn in the Litchfield Elementary School District. It stems from a Web site address that's similiar to the school district's.

Parents say just a couple of wrong letters takes you to porn.

Hollie Morrow's daughters attend school there. She tells CBS 5 she's very disturbed.

"We have so much good going on at their school . . . This is not how we want it to look," she says.

The school district contacted the owner of the porn site, but he says they'd have to buy him out to shut it down.

Many people use Google instead of bookmarks.

So, people search for LESD to get to their site.
Some people might type LESB instead... which gets you ads for lesbian porn.

The D and B key are not near each other to accidently hit the B instead of the D.

Young you been bitching about my post alot lately. You are choosing to read it so its not spam. No one forces you to click my threads. Everything i post is some how related to our industry. No one is telling you to signup to anything or forcing anything upon you. I am helping a friend build up a site and i am using this board for what its made to do. I think the point is you CLEARLY post LINK TO STORY yet your link DOES NOT link to the story because we have to click another link. My question is why not just link to the ORIGINAL story?

To be honest I don't give a rats ass about your friend's site. Forcing me there isn't going to get me to use his site at all. In fact is will have the oposite effect. I post links all the time and if it's a story from CNN then my link goes to CNN it's a story from Yahoo then my link goes to Yahoo. And to be honest to reprint stories on a site for profit violates copyright.

Then don't fucking click the link plain and simple. No one is forcing you to do anything. You chose to click the links i didn't make you click the links. As to the copy right comment show me the site is making a profit off of any of this?

No one is reprinting stories and violating copyright either, all the stories being posted here were added to my site via RSS Feeds, which were supplied by the site itself for people like me to use on my site. When you are linked from here to my site, the page you see has a link to the rest of the story. If i displayed the entire story here or on my site for that matter without linking to the source then that would be a violation.

I send you to my site because my site is a news site. I (we) took the time to post here, and advertise here, why can't I ask you to make an extra click and check out my site in the process. Perhaps there is other stories on my site that you would like to check out? Shoot me because you have to take 2 seconds more to make 1 more click. Call it spam if you like, either way don't read it if it upsets you.

First of I didn't know it was YOUR site. The other guy said it was a "friend's" site. If he had stated it was will76's site then your post would have been seen as you meant it as a defense of your posistion. I once tried to grab a domain for a porn site and found out it belonged to a school...

I once bought the dot net of a domain to use for a gay site later to find out the dot com was for a boys club. At the time I bought the dot net they didn't have a site up on the dot com and I never heard of it before so i had no idea.

They were rather pissed once they put their site online and we had better SE listings for the domain. Their members apparently couldn't read and were clicking my links in the search engine. I don't blame them for being pissed, it was a bad situation that was not intentional and we worked it out with them.

Sounds like someone's daddy got caught looking at porn.. told the wifey he was trying to access the schools site, lol.
