is there an adult industry lobby?
I was noticing that Australia has an adult industry lobby, theeros foundation. Not sure if that's at all influential.
Given how responsive our leaders our to campaign cash, how does the adult industry insure that it is recognized as worth saving? Certainly several interests (Flynt, Playboy, etc.) have used mainstream media to influence perception and acceptance. And, of course, people vote with their dollars.
But when it comes down to particular politicians making moves to ban porn, who sits on their other shoulder?
In a similar vein, there have been a few threads about the mainstreaming of porn. If Microsoft or AOL were to simply say "We are your source of online porn. Only our smut conforms to the Bush agenda." Do you think the people who got squeezed would be in a strong position to respond?
