Goodbye NFL for Mike Vick! He Just Pled Guilty to Dog Fighting!!!

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/08/20/vick/index.html

And there you have it, I said he was guilty on day one and here it is. The truth, he helped hang dogs, drown them, kill them in many ways.

What a hero..

SomeCreep 08-20-2007 12:00 PM

He deserves jail time for what he did. Seems crazy to me, that someone with so much to lose would do something as stupid as he did.

BAKO 08-20-2007 12:03 PM

hang the fucker

Verbal 08-20-2007 12:04 PM

Hope they put him away for a long time .... what a fucking animal.

Bryan G 08-20-2007 12:05 PM

What an idiot,

Dudes got all the money in the world and gets involved in this Bullshit.

ItalianVixen 08-20-2007 12:07 PM

That bastard needs to be sent to jail and not get "Good Behavior". What a numb nut he is

SCtyger 08-20-2007 12:09 PM

tough luck.. he should've sprayed up some fools instead of dogfighting.

nobody cares about dead gangstas. you touch a dog.. "oh no you didnt!" lol

Profits of Doom 08-20-2007 12:09 PM

GAMEFINEST 08-20-2007 12:16 PM

That sucks for him, so much money ...

Topher49er 08-20-2007 12:17 PM

don't drop the soap....

Axeman 08-20-2007 12:17 PM

He'll get out and get a job with another team. He will play again.

MetaMan 08-20-2007 12:20 PM

What an idiot, some people are just either to stupid or to greedy and deserve what is coming to them.

They just better not be giving him some kind of sweet deal because of his celeb status.

Casa Nova 08-20-2007 12:22 PM

Ha I bet the NFL won't take him back after he does time. & he will run to the CFL where the Argos will take him lol

Profits of Doom 08-20-2007 12:23 PM

He also better hope his plea includes the dropping of state charges in Virginia, because the local prosecutor said they are still pursuing charges and he is looking at 40 years there. This plea is for federal charges...

For real. How many athletes have been involved in shootings and stabbings and all that and are still playing? Shit, I bet people hate Vick more than OJ right now.

You're off the hook Juice, Vick's got your back.

I don't think it's such a big deal...they're just dogs, they're not humans. It's not like he was raising young kids to fight to the death and then drowning them if they were pussies. Their animals, not saying it's right but just saying that everyone is acting like he killed his wife and took off with his best friend in his white bronco...come on.

Metalsound 08-20-2007 01:09 PM

"I don't think it's such a big deal...they're just dogs"

:(

Sad

Probably there are ... , but those players shoudn`t be playing as well.

Animal cruelty is not right, but I think that the level people are putting him on in terms of the crime is way too high. I think the most serious of the crimes is the fact that there was illegal gambling going on. It's wrong either way but I think that folks are getting carried away hating on this guy, if he was just some backwoods redneck from VA would there still be 30 threads about him and how he sucks at life?

Phil 08-20-2007 01:20 PM

he wont be missed.

aico 08-20-2007 01:23 PM

The backwoods redneck was not paid millions of dollars made of fans of a sport, not a spokesperson for numerous different places, was not a hero to millions of kids.

the guy filled football stadiums for a reason.

Axzar 08-20-2007 02:47 PM

He will be back on the field in 18 months.

Sosa 08-20-2007 03:08 PM

good, him and his brother are fucking dumbasses

kane 08-20-2007 03:27 PM

My prediction is that he will get a fine and 12 months in jail of which he will serve about 9-10. He will get a 2 year suspension from the nfl. When he gets out of jail he will have a year left on his nfl suspension and he will appeal and accept a deal that lets him come back under strict guidelines. There are tons of teams that need a QB and would be willing to give him a shot. He won't get a huge deal right up front, but if he signs with a team and does well, he could end up with another big deal, only this time there would be a lot of behaviour clauses in the contract.

I doubt the nfl has seen the last of Vick.

Pac-Man got a year suspension and he has never be convicted of ANYHTHING. Also any suspension by the NFL will take place AFTER he gets out of jail. Just like Tank Johnson. He won't appeal any suspension if he ever wants to play again. He will lose any appeal. Vick won't touch a football field before 2009 at the earliest.

Mid February 2009? Will he be playing for the Arena Football League?

That may be true, but he's being made out to be as bad as OJ and he didn't kill anybody. It's not his fault he's a hero to millions of kids when parents these days can't do that for their own kids. There's a bigger issue behind the reason he was a hero/role model for kids. I just think that folks are getting all bent out of shape about this guy for getting paid major bucks to play football and being a piece of shit off the field. So if he was just some asshole that made the minimum salary and did the same thing it's not so bad cause he's not a role model for kids.

starpimps 08-20-2007 03:43 PM

they were going to bring down rico charges, so he plead guilty..i kinda wished that the DA didn't make a deal with the idiot, game over if he was guilty under the rico charge.

what a douchebag hopefully he gets the full 36 months, banned from nfl

Rodent 08-20-2007 04:09 PM

With the current nfl commissioner this guy will be fucked, and rightfully so.

it is certainly possible. It is also possible that the judge throws the book at him and he gets 3-5 years. If that happens he is done. If not there have been reports that the commissioner would be willing to consider letting him server his jail time and nfl suspension time together. I don't know if he would or not, but maybe. I think if he gets a year or less we will see him back in the nfl and if gets more than a year he will not be back.

Do you know how to read? His court appearance isn't until August 27.

Usually when someone pleads guilty, it means they are guilty... :2 cents:

You see the title? He said he just pled (sp) guilty. He won't make his plea until the 27th.

We won't bother discussing whether or not a plea automatically equates to guilt, because in this case I believe it does.

RawAlex 08-20-2007 04:42 PM

If the NFL takes him back at any time the fans should boycott the games. The NFL won't want to play in front of empty stands.

Thats all he did. He was an overrated, middle of the list quaterback at best. Believe it or not the Falcons will be better off without him in the long run.

I'm pretty sure the suspension will go into effect once he is released from prison, not when he is locked up.

Thats the truth right there. This new guy has made it his mission so far to make it clear he won't stand for misbehavior off the field. Vick is fucked and it puts a smile on my face. :)

J. Falcon 08-20-2007 05:07 PM

I have critized the U.S. in a lot of other threads but I have to take my hat off to a society that tries a celebrity for something like this. In a country where soccer is big there is simply NO WAY IN HELL a big name player would go to prison over something like this.

DateDoc 08-20-2007 05:14 PM

Nike has some cheap Vick shoes for sale

NETbilling 08-20-2007 05:16 PM

I wonder how much money he made from dog fighting. Certainly not the $120 million he is about to lose. What and idiot.

Mitch

Spunky 08-20-2007 05:31 PM

He's pretty much fucked now for a career in the NFL...I'm sure the CFL will take him :)

Unless he pleads guilty to gambling on the fights an NFL career is still possible.
