Extreme John 08-20-2007 06:43 AM

I dont spend as much now as I have in the past, but ive spent $2500 a night before.

wyldworx 08-20-2007 06:48 AM

about as much as your broke ass can afford to charge a client for one of your overpriced shitty pole dances.

k0nr4d 08-20-2007 07:14 AM

last hotel i stayed in was 60zl/night which is about $27. Very nice hotel, luxury suite and in the castleish area of Ostrowia near Poznan, Poland.

God, that side of the country is ALOT more civilized!

tranza 08-20-2007 07:25 AM

Not that much, I usually spend around $120/night.

The most I've paid was around $200/night.

But for that money I've stayed on some VERY nice places.

Pornwolf 08-20-2007 07:26 AM

$7k Dubai

The room was a 3bed villa was actually $11k but I got a discount for being a good customer.

Average $200

Pornwolf 08-20-2007 08:05 AM

Let me add that you know those times where you spend so much money at one time you shake your head in amazement.

Sometimes you regret it... other times it gives you memories that last a lifetime so it was worth it. This was definitely the latter.

If you can do it, I urge all of you to take the trip and stay at that hotel.

The villas are called The Malakiya villas.

It depends where I'm going and how much time I'll actually be spending in the room

Why would you do that? Why not stay in one of the neighbouring villages that actually have some character?

I don't really like to stay in luxurious hotels. I mean, for a moment it's nice, but I enjoy my time much more when I'm with friends who force me to travel on a very tight budget.

I absolutely resent pre-arranged luxury trips and package holidays.

INever 08-20-2007 11:23 AM

Let me know when you ask how nice a suite/room have you stayed in on a "comp"..........

That times you will spend on budget trips with friends are always going to be the ones you remember most fondly. Enjoy them now!

I don't know why that is... but it's definitely true. The fun you have when you have money doesn't compare to the fun you had with only the basics and good friends.

When you get older everyone gets more money so none of your friends will do the tight budget trips anymore... but when you get together for the expensive trips you will reminisce about the, "Remember when we stayed in the hostel in Amsterdam..." type of stories.

zand_stein 08-20-2007 03:17 PM

$150/night...............
not bad right..........

polish_aristocrat 08-26-2007 02:10 AM

thx for sharing your experiences, Pornwolf

RayBonga 08-26-2007 02:17 AM

Maximum I ever spent was a bit more than €700 per night (only stayed 3 nights).

I normally try to pay around €100-150 as a maximum.

Roadtrip through Europe (Germany, Italy and the south of France - Cote d'Azur)

We stayed in Monaco because we wanted to stay in Monaco and not in one of the neighbouring villages...

most i have spent was 300 at the hilton in jacksonville,,,

xato 08-27-2007 07:26 AM

Around $350 per night at the Es Saadi Gardens & Resort in Marrakech, Morocco.

Well worth the money, best night I ever stayed in a hotel. :thumbsup

Rhesus 08-27-2007 07:39 AM

What's the stupid obsession with excessive spending and luxury some people have here? Does it enrich your life to spend 11k on a hotel room for a night, instead of using the money to build a school in Africa, or the likes? What's the use of going to a third world country like Morocco and spending a staggering $350 on a room (which may not be that much in London but it's ridiculous in Morocco), thus avoiding any contact whatsoever with the culture and the people of the country you're in, and surrounding yourself with sort of a buffer of the luxury your narrow-mindedness needs?

I'm sorry to sound so rough, but I really think some people need to give some thought to what they're doing.

Michael O 08-27-2007 08:00 AM

$300 a night for a hotel in LA but I didn't pay myself.
$150 a night for a hotel where I paid myself.

Going on vacation in September in Thailand about $30 a night.
To cheap to pay to much for a hotel, I only need a decent size room and I feel more comfortable in a decent hotel than a 5* hotel.

riabanana 08-27-2007 08:06 AM

$150-$200 :)

riabanana 08-27-2007 08:11 AM

Around $150-200. :P

Sosa 08-27-2007 08:20 AM

We have done some 300-400/nights, but usually try to keep it around 125-150 with taxes. Just depends what we are doing and what city of course.

:1orglaugh Youre quite the jealous smartass idiot of this thread.
Ok so I should rather donate (or build a school in africa LOL :1orglaugh) the money that I earned, instead of having fun and enjoying it?
Then whats the point of trying to make more money at all? To be able to donate more?
Also how do you figure, that staying the night in a luxury hotel suite means avoiding any contact with the culture or the people? I am sorry, I fail to follow your way of thoughts.
Anyways, why spend 11 grand on a hotel room? Because he can fucking afford it. The question of this thread was, whats the most you spent on a hotel, and he answered, so shut your mouth.

fuzebox 08-27-2007 11:11 AM

I usually spend $30-40/night at beach hotels here :) Hut on the beach with a hammock hanging outside is good enough for me.

The most I ever spend on hotels are at conventions.

MikeSmoke 08-27-2007 11:34 AM

Going to have to pay around $600 per night in Rome next week, for reasons beyond my control.

But a more interesting question (at least to me) is: what's the LEAST you've paid for a hotel room? For me, it was $2 for a night in Turkey :thumbsup

JimmiDean 08-27-2007 11:41 AM

About 400 a night max.
What the hell its a vacation get something nice.

With the right person that $30 a night room could be 100X more enjoyable than a $11k room.

It's all relative. The cost isn't important.

betsy 08-27-2007 12:09 PM

I spent about 750$ a night for my honeymoon at the 4 seasons in hawaii, but normally about 200-300$

you are reading too much into a one or 3 night deal. $350 is like a i meal out where I live.

What would I be jealous of? Shallowness?

Someone who spends 11k/night on a hotel room has clear motives, everyone can figure it out. Basically, it means you're a loser in almost all cases. I can afford it, but lol, 11k, too ridiculous for words...

Are you having fun when you spend much more than you need to? I don't think so. I think you're a shallow, selfish idiot.

Tell me, did you meet many locals? Have you had a meal with a Moroccan family? Who's the head of state in Morocco? I mean, did you learn anything of the country you were in apart from the size of the bath tub in your hotel room?

I visited Morocco a few months ago and stayed in $10/night hotels, where the owners had to make room, because their office was located in our room-to-be. They proudly showed us the only western-style toilet there was in the hotel. I loved it.

Sen 08-28-2007 11:56 AM

normaly arround 150 euro max. 1 time everything was full and i wanted to sleep and they asked 1200 euro per night (honeymoon sweet in a 5 star hotel) i accepted. But thats not what i do normally.

Rhesus 08-28-2007 12:55 PM

When you visit a country like Morocco, the line of thought is usually that you go there because of something that makes it special. For Morocco, I think that's its people, buildings, lifestyle, culture. For some, that list includes food as well. Is staying in a luxury hotel by non-locals the best way to experience things, or is it rather an extension of your own 'home sweet home' abroad?

xato 08-28-2007 01:09 PM

Ok let me tell you, of course I met many locals, the head of state is Mohammed VI, which is pretty easy to find out when there are huge photos of him everywhere. And no, I did not have to look that up on wikipedia.

I did however not have a meal with a Moroccan family because I dont personally know any locals and therefore prefer to not invite myself, but eat at a restaurant, which obviously had Moroccan food as well.

Im sorry that I dont part your opinion of spending $10 nights means to experience more culture of a country than staying at a more luxurious hotel, where at least my car was safe. I doubt this would have been the case at your $10 shelter.

You definitely are a jealous idiot.
Just because others can afford to spend more money than you, it doesnt mean you are smarter than them lol.

$350 for 1 meal? I thought Brazil is cheap...:winkwink:

Jace 08-30-2007 03:34 AM

whenever we go on vacation we barely spend any time in the room at all, so we usually go for cheaper

stayed at a four seasons for 2 nights last year, total waste of money, like $450 a night and it wasn't ANY different than the 2-3 other $100 a night hotels right next door

Hehe! :thumbsup

That seems to be the average for beach hotels here - tho there are a few more catering to tourists desperate to offload their money :)

Got some deal with Barcelo here where it only costs.. think $27/day (used to be $25). If you used one of their resort hotels, they are usually all inclusive, (booze, all meals - including a la carte) so the lot still costs the same price *lol* My daughter lived in a few for up to six months at a time - but that can be boring and an overkill - breakfast, pool, lunch, pool, dinner, pool, bar, casino blah...

Other countries - varies - can spend up to $500 night on occasions...

The worst ripoff I ever had was staying at the Plaza Hotel in NYC. The room was tiny.

When staying in New Orleans for Mardi Gras, I'll pay a premium to stay as close to (or on top of) Bourbon Street as possible. If anyone hasn't gone before then you've got to check it out. Fun times.
