Too many variables in this question. It's like asking what a good time is to finish a marathon. We need to know if you are walking, running or are you in a wheelchair? How old are you? Are you male or female? How often you train. What is your average timed marathon. A lot of other info would help also. -- S T E V E D -- is a major a-hole. Always crying and bitching. What an annoying little fuck. |
there are a lot of variables but <1% is dog shit awful. I shoot for >10% from galleries I submit that have to conform to strict tgp rules, but hosted galleries that can and should be much more aggressive need to do even better for me to be interested.

Click thru matters NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING
Only thing that matters is ROI I make can easy make galleries with a CTR at 1% doing the same amount of sales as a 10% CTR gallery... Lower CTR usually means that the quality of the clicks is that much higher.. There's ofcourse ways to fuck up the CTR so it doesn't work at all.. like having one link in the very top of the gallery and none in the bottom.. |
Crazy talk. Galleries don't make sales. All they're there for is to drive traffic to the tour. If a tour is going to convert 1:500 then a shitty gallery that generates 500 clicks is going to net you one sale. A gallery that sells the site correctly and intriques the surfer into needing more and sends 5000 clicks to the same tour will make you 10 sales. So how does the CTR not matter?
Of course ROI is important but a higher ctr can only help roi, especially if you are pushing a sponsors paysite. it's not like sending their tour more clicks is going to cost you more money. Increasing ctr can not negatively affect your bottom line. |
and biskopen, you're a tgp owner so you would want to see ctr low so your productivity can go up, but if you were a gallery submitter exclusively, what logic could there ever be to not wanting the highest ctr possible?

I'm a gallery guy, not a TGP owner.. and I've been working with galleries for quite some years now.. and trust me, two different galleries with the very same CTR can sell very different.. last year we found "a secret" which made reality style sites sell up to 300% better than usually.. with the same CTR from the gallery And btw. alot of galleries links directly to the joinpage.. and that leaves all the selling to the gallery |
odd that your location says "submit to viking thumbs" but whatever. Of course some galleries link the join page. that's a different story. If you have some magic potion than makes one gallery generate 3 times the signup of another one going to the same tour, then kudos to you, but to tell a guy that ctr means nothing is just ignorant.
You have to remember that not everyone uses your approach, and not everyone knows your "secret". don't let my reg date fool you. I have submitted more galleries than I care to remember. I've seen the anomolies and countless variables. None of it takes ctr completely out of the equation, especially for a guy who is obviously just starting out. A ctr of less than 1% on the hun? What's the best case scenario for that roi? |
