If you hate the bittorrent sites hiding in the Netherlands and continuing the rampant piracy of your content, here is the website to report their illegal activities.

Here again it is a numbers game and you need to report specific content. This organization has taken down a number of bittorrent sites in the past.

The foundation is called BREIN (BRAIN) make no mistake about it they're
pretty successful in getting sites down, closed and have providers hand
over personal information about site owners.

They are also the one who got torrentspy.com "closed" it's still up but only
has links to torrents found on other sites. Brein sued the provider and won
a court case which got them the info of the people who run torrentspy.com

In Holland people really fear Brein.....if anyone can get a site down the legal
way......BREIN can.

Now, that's a solution to close down the torrents sites.

I'll get in touch with them actually coz as far as I know you can join them
as a company.....not sure what's their position towards adult though....

If you look at IPs many of the bittorrent sites, no matter where the url is reigstered, you will find they geolocate to two datacenters in the Netherlands.

Lots used a dutch provider called Easynet they are dirt cheap and had a
very tolerant reputation towards fileshare type of sites......had till brein
won a lawsuit last month which made Leaseweb to cooperate with Brein
and provide them with the info of anyone who's being investigated for
illegal content distribution or accessory to it.

a little over a year ago I got a usenet binary forum closed down that was
hosted with the exact same provider....the site was called rip-productions.org
search GFY for that thread and the results.

I'm busy finding piracy (supporting) sites that use them and will get all of
them to be shutdown.......and no I'm not bluffing :winkwink:

Most of the sites seem to be originating in two C blocks of IPs......

Collusion? Organized Crime? RICO? What are the possibilites?

They're good at picking on very, very, small and insignificant sites that have no resources (one man band on a residential connection) or just can't be bothered to fight them.

Apart from a handful of notable exceptions, all of the big torrent sites are in The Netherlands and BREIN hasn't been able to do shit about any of them. They managed to get the names of the admins of Everlasting.nu (who? yeah, exactly) and also Demonoid from their host, LeaseWeb. Demonoid moved their servers to Canada and it's business as usual. What a complete waste of time and money. Congrats to BREIN for doing nothing about the problem by spreading it to another country.

With all due respect, you'd have difficulty getting this more wrong, even if you tried. TorrentSpy has always had links to torrents on other sites. Just because they don't host them on the own server doesn't diminish the availability of the warez does it?

Also, any actions against TorrentSpy were initiated in the Unted States by the MPAA when they were hosted in the United States. It's only the fact that Justin Bunnell, the owner of TorrentSpy is a US citizen that anything has been done at all. BREIN did not sue anyone in respect of TorrentSpy and the recent limited service offered by the site has everything to do with protecting the privacy of its users and NOTHING to do with BREIN.

Sorry, but you are wrong again. Have they shut down Mininova, a HUGE torrent site hosted in The Netherlands with an Alexa Ranking of 96? No.

What about all the massive private trackers hosted in The Netherlands? NOPE

What about all the porn-specific trackers hosted there too? NOTHING

BREIN is a waste of space.

If you want a list of all the major trackers in the world, i'll send you one to save you hunting for them but honestly, you aren't doing anyone any favors at all with your wild claims that you can get these sites shut down. You can't and although you seem like a nice guy, you're poorly informed you have no workable strategy at all. You WILL go gray and/or bald on this mission.

You aren't doing yourself, this site, your industry or your cause any favors whatsoever.

Well its the truth you guys dont care, there is a ton of cp on bt's.CP, Stolen content, other people's work man what a slimy business model. Your problem is you guys are getting bolder and bolder and that going to be your downfall.

Simple facts (trying to keep the simple because I think you might have problems with the more complicated concepts): If you run a torrent site (or are a torrent site user) you need to understand that torrent sites are great places to download CP. Every site (including the very big guys) are packed full of CP. In fact, Pirate Bay claims never to have removed a torrent, so I suspect there is plenty of CP files available through their system.

I think that if you have at least half a brain, you would be very upset that your beloved torrent systems have been turned into a recruiting and distribution system for pedophiles.

Then again, perhaps you enjoy it.

RawAlex, you are a shiny example of why you and anyone with you is going to fail and fail royally in your mission to stop or even hinder piracy.

Moving on to The Pirate Bay, it would be ILLEGAL for them to download any suspected child porn for filtering purposes. Anyone finding any 'CP' indexed by their tracker should immediately inform the Swedish police, who will inform The Pirate Bay who will remove the torrent. Guaranteed.

Why were you jumping down this guys throat for what seems to be an informative post on the topic? What hell does post count on GFY have to do with anything?

I'd hazard a guess it's because:

1) I demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of BitTorrent so therefore I must be facilitating mass copyright infringement and NOT an experienced piracy investigator and therefore I must be tarnished with

2. Ron Cadwell's idea of trying to associate BitTorrent with child porn :roll:

Child Porn is a CRIMINAL and POLICE issue of the utmost gravity, it has nothing to do with copyright and civil issues and linked them does nothing for the victims of these horrible crimes.
