A foolish old man with the most basic racist thoughts in his mind, without a basic understanding of economics or even simple production of food. His choices have left people starving in the streets because he chased off the white farmers (who were often running large farms with many employees, using relatively modern techniques to producer large quanties of food) and broke the farms into little pieces and gave them to the people who had been working for the big farms. The problem being that most of the people don't have a clue how to manage their own farm, and they don't have the equipment or organization skills to pull it off. So instead of a huge food crop, these people are at best doign subsistance farming for their own family on land that might have supported many more people in the past.

The history of Africa shows sadly that this process will repeat over and over for hundreds or thousands of years, as there always seems to be too much support for idiot dictators and their thugs.

The situation in Zimbabwe could be solved easily with US help but it has no oil. The same with the sitation in Sierra Leone, Apartheid South Africa, or Liberia.

The US only gets in involved when they can exploit the situation. They care nothing about freedom, democracy, or peace, if there is no financial gain.
