Fidel Castro Dead?

An ominous post on a celebrity news site warns that Fidel Castro may have died. The site run by Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, who runs the site under the name Perez Hilton, says "We are hearing very loud rumblings that... Fidel Castro has died..

One reporter for the NP says "He's never wrong!" The site run by Lavandeira gets millions of hits daily and he says it would be "awesome" if his site was one of the first outlets to report that Castro had indeed died.

A National Post reporter spoke with the 26-year-old blogger who says: "It would be awesome because I am Cuban. I have a real connection to this story. My family had to flee his dictorial, totalitarian, oppressive, communist, evil regime."[sic]

I have a feeling that Castro has been dead for a while, but they fear to reveal it. They will probably have him stuffed and mounted like an old family pet.

So United Fruit Brands will be happy :

The Cuban people--under the leadership of Fidel Castro-- remembered well the tragedy of Guatemala. They defeated the CIA invasion. And they took back all the land that United Fruit owned in Cuba--land that today's Helms-Burton Law is meant to return to U.S. corporate owners.
