Hardware Laptop->PC Help Please
Feel a bit stupid asking this but........ can someone help me figure out the best way to do this:
I have a dual 2000+ box that does my video proccessing, I wanna be able to just lug the case and not a monitor, keyboard, etc. What I want to be able to do is hook up my laptop to the dual 2000+ and use the monitor/keyboard/mouse of the laptop to do stuff on the dual 2000+. Do I need a port replicator? Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW its a Dell laptop and a homemade dual 2000+ if that matters. Thanks. Rory :helpme |

I don't think what your trying to do is possible. You probably have to connect them with ethernet and run some kind off network tool. I.E VNC to operate your desktop computer. However the lagg times will make it hard to edit video directly in a virtual envirement.

Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks.

dought its possible, vnc is the only way to go I think, but lag time would be horrible.

Would speed matter? All I want to do is be able to suck from dv tape over to pc ... have pc burn dvd with uncompressed avi..... just dont have the HD in the laptop for that. I dont need to be doing any realtime editing or anything, just being able to launch the program to burn the dvd, etc. Lemme know if that changes anything. Thanks.
