[WARNING: Biz Thread] Blogging POV [NO pics]
What Point of View do you blog from? From the owner of your site, from a narrative pov? How do you speak to your visitors?
"I love this girl" "You will love this girl" "They all love this girl" etc Do you find it makes an impact if you are personal with surfers or detached? |
Personal all the way, I've tested this out several times in several niches, when you feel like your in the 'boys club' surfers will click.
|
"You will love this girl" most times.
|
Mine are always from the first person and I try to inject as much personality as possible. Not just talking about the girl or whatever is in the pic/video, but also tangents that sort of go along with whatever niche I'm trying to target.

Personal too.

biz thread and no pics?
damn... most of the time it's my personal POV - "I love this girl" and for "special" recommendations i like talking to the surfer - "You'll love this girl" |
My most successful site is written in the first person.

as a female writer

If you don't do it like this your text will become very stale and people will sense the sell. |
I speak as often as possible in the first person with plenty of my own personality to flavor it with uniqueness.
|
Personal all the way. I'm all about the invisible soft sell.
"Isn't this a great picture? It caught my eye because..." Then I spin a little story around the photo, whatever caught my attention about it, or whatever fun little fantasy or scenario that popped into my mind when I saw it. I never suggest the surfer should go and sign up, I just do my best to make sure he shares my erotic vision and then make sure the links for "more" are there. If I've engaged his erotic imagination, he'll know what to do. |
Yep, very good opinions so far. :]
