I am the Possum King!!!!
 

I have single-handily lead to a possum population explosion in Long Beach the little fuckers are running a muck around here now. Their is so many I am not sure how much longer I can keep feeding them all and they might have to start eating some of these fucking stray cats around here.

It all started like 8 months ago with one really sad looking possum I thew some bananas and tuna out my window because I felt sorry for it. Soon after I found out my possum buddy was a big Whore as ?she? stared popping out all the little baby possums. Of Course the babes where really cute, so I feed them even more and really kind of adopted them. But now they are EVERY WHERE, last night I heard some screaming coming from outside my apartment my seems my female neighbor went to take the trash out at 2 am, and she startled my new friend, and they all scattered in all directions. It just so happen that included right at her, and of course she did not know what they where and assumed they where ?Giant Rats?.

Now I am not to sure what to do, I even saw a story on the news the other day about all the possum in downtown Long Beach and how the carry diseases. Now I know my babies are clean and they are just sensationalizing it to make people watch the news but damn its getting wild around here now

They are hated in NZ - I remember a Toyota advert that promoted the trucks as being particularly good at killing them.

NZ is a very 'Green" place - but they can be pretty cold if they don't like something.

They are really rare here in Long Beach, I was shocked to see one in the first place and not much for them to eat around here (naturally) I am originally from Dallas Tx, and they have them every where, but I have never heard of anyone bragging about killing them :(

I would and guess I might have to let it “take it's course” but the though of them starving to death just outside my window does make me feel bad. I am going to have to move at some point but I can hear them late at night, kind of begging for food and have to admit it is kind of cool does remind me of home

They are counted as an invasive species in NZ - imported from Australia - there are literally millions of them.....

Lots of people kill them on purpose - I couldn't do it myself.

They are bigger than the ones you have - about the size of a large cat.

I really can see people seeing a invading species as a problem, that must be why the can talk about killing them like that. But they get that big if not bigger here too, some of the guys could eat a cat if the could get a hold of it :winkwink:
