Who will sign Mike Vick after he gets out of jail?

My friend and I had this debate today. Supposedly tomorrow Vick is going to agree to a plea deal. There are no details yet, but most experts think he will serve 10-16 months and will get suspended from the NFL for a period of time. So when he gets out he will still be young and can get back into shape. You know the NFL will give him a second chance (as long as he doesn't screw up in jail) and there are teams out there so desperate for wins they will sign him.

My pick, the Detroit Lions. They have great receivers and a decent running back, but no real offensive line. Someone like Vick who can run will fit in great there.

I heard Vick has something else planned if he is not let back into the NFL, that will allow him to remain close to the sport he loves best:

They could use him today but who knows what they're gonna need in 2+ years which is most likely when he'll be able to come back (if he's able to come back at all)

I'm gonna guess the Cincinnatti Bengals....I think their GM has watched The Longest Yard way too many times.

LOL that is true. I am a Raider fan and agree with the others that he may end up in a Raider uniform. The bengals haven't seen a jail bird they didn't like though. If something happens to Palmer Vick could end up there.

Raiders or Cowboys. That's if anyone even wants him. His career is pretty well fucked after this is all done.

Ya the Raiders or Cowboys are about the only 2 teams I can think of that would stoop that low, but we can all hope he will never play in the NFL again. Is thier a team called the Bull Dogs someplace, if so then I vote for them :)

OG LennyT 08-16-2007 04:06 PM

He isn't that great anyway, put a few more years on him + being out of the league= his career is over

CDSmith 08-16-2007 04:07 PM

Detroit was the first NFL team that came to mind for me as well.

Either that or the CFL will welcome him with open arms. :D

You may be right: better players have committed career suicide by doing much less

Raider fan here as well - We will definitely get him. At this rate, JaMarcus isn't getting signed, or we will fuck it up, so we will have to get someone. Our long proud tradition of fuckups will definitely have Vick in the radars.. :winkwink:

yep, it seems like everyone that ever is a fuck up at some point makes their way into a Raider uniform.
