Who here DOES NOT have a pet?

I dont have anything and think its about time?

I don't know. I never know what I'm missing until I have one.

Right now im fully content not having one.

Who here has no pets?

Brother Bilo 08-16-2007 02:23 PM

I don't, but it's not by choice. My landlord say no go on the pets, so I have to wait until early next year. Probably end up with a couple dogs.

nikki99 08-16-2007 02:23 PM

I don´t but I wish a kittie

Thrawn$ 08-16-2007 02:24 PM

I have couple rats but it's not by choice

Brad 08-16-2007 02:26 PM

I don't and I am happy with it that way. I probably do have to time to take a dog for a walk, but I am selfish and don't want to spend all of my free time taking a dog out.

D 08-16-2007 02:26 PM

Currently, I don't.

My roommate of 9 years and I went our separate directions last year (we decided it was best, since we'd be common-law married in some states), and as he remained in the apartment, the cats stayed with him.

Since then - not that I don't miss them (I still visit them when my bro and I hang out) - I've kinda enjoyed the break from changing kitty litter and such.

First year in my life that I haven't had a pet, I think... I'm sure I'll get one sooner or later.

They say having a pet increases your life expectancy.

TeenCat 08-16-2007 02:27 PM

Bryan G 08-16-2007 02:28 PM

I dont, my gf has a cat and its my arch enemy

Big_D 08-16-2007 02:29 PM

nothing like it being 1228 (yes now am) and having your cats show you love. We all love the bumps on the board, so why not the little homies saying, IM HERE WITH YOU

kane 08-16-2007 02:30 PM

I don't. I'm barely ready for the responsibility of furniture, not to mention a pet.

Michaelious 08-16-2007 02:31 PM

I used to but not any more.

Baal.PitBull 08-16-2007 02:37 PM

no kids but I have my dogs

PaulB IYP 08-16-2007 02:39 PM

negative on the pet scale
pets take up way too much time
you gotta be pretty bored with yourself to buy a dog

BlackCrayon 08-16-2007 02:40 PM

Nope never have besides the family pets when i was living with my parents.

Peaches 08-16-2007 02:41 PM

I've never NOT had a pet. My parents had a weenier dog when I was born. They said we had it all figured out: If I didn't want to eat something I'd drop it on the floor and he'd eat it. And if I was hungry, there was a bowl full of food on the floor just waiting for me ;)

Antonio 08-16-2007 02:50 PM

I want dog but I can't have since I'm renting

gotekix 08-16-2007 02:55 PM

Fuck pets. Another unnecessary person to take care of.

Violetta 08-16-2007 03:01 PM

I dont. Pretty much allergic to everything.

irinasp 08-17-2007 05:50 AM

it's a problem, you should always take care of 'em like after a child... i don't have time for that(((

ADL Colin 08-17-2007 06:42 AM

Don't have one, don't want one

Iron Fist 08-17-2007 07:25 AM

Neither do I.. used to have em but they are dirty. They say cats are the cleanest animals - please.

Try moving out and cleaning up after a cats been in the place for a month, you'll find hair and crap in places you never knew existed. It was amazing.

Emil 08-17-2007 07:34 AM

I had 2 dogs but we had to sell them. I really miss them. :(

Tom_PM 08-17-2007 07:40 AM

I havent had one in a great many years because I currently rent and it would not be fair to the pet to force it to be inside it's whole life (is how I feel).

When I buy a home, I'd like a nice dog and cat though.

Emil 08-17-2007 07:43 AM

If you're young, don't get a pet yet. I'm sure you want to travel, party your ass off, and other things before you can stay at home 7 days a week....

SomeCreep 08-17-2007 07:44 AM

I had a pet spider that lived in the corner of my office, but I squashed him.

tomeatsdinner 08-17-2007 07:45 AM

I used to have one.. Right now I dont have time anymore to have pet.

Kevin Marx 08-17-2007 07:53 AM

Don't have pets. Have tried a plethora (dogs, fish, bird), but just don't have the time for them.

Besides... we have kids.... why do I need additional things in the house that are like kids that no one else wants to help take care of????

More power to those of you that have em.

Slick 08-17-2007 07:58 AM

I have 1 dog and 3 cats (one 1 year old and 2 kittens). I love all my pets, but I think that having cats is a lot nicer than a dog. For one, a dog is always there wanting attention which is nice at times, but sometimes it's a bit too much. Plus there's the walking job. Then with dogs, there's the outdoor bathroom job and setting them up in a kennel when you won't be home overnight, so no spur of the momment trips with a dog if you don't have a good kennel that's now always filled.

With cats, they're nice because they pretty much keep to themselves. My oldest cat usually comes over and greets me in the morning and the others are around throughout the day, they'll come over for a little attention, then go play around of if you're watching tv, they'll jump up on your lap. Cats are great because, of course, they use a litterbox which is nice because if needed, you can just get up and leave for a few days (if you have feeding/water dishes made for it). I guess the 2 bad things about cats are cleaning out the litterbox and the fear of them destroying furniture. I haven't had any problems with my cats yet (knock on wood), ha ha.

kowalsky 08-17-2007 08:00 AM

I have no pets. I would like to have a cat, but I´ll in an apartment, and I fell Í would be cruel if I have one in a place where the cat can´t go out to do cat things...

Elli 08-17-2007 09:13 AM

I have been petless since early April. I miss her tons still. It feels weird to walk without her. RIP Missy.

Beautiful pup Elli. I lost my dog earlier this summer, had him for almost 14 years. People say things like "there is not a day that goes by I don't think of ________" With my dog, there's not a minute that goes by that I don't think of him.

The hardest part of the day, is when I got to bed. For 12 years the dog never slept with me, and then all of a sudden this last year he did every night. So now, when I go to bed, and he's not sitting there at the base of the bed waiting for me to pick him up I get sad.

I'm at home probably 80% of the time, and my roommate travels constantly, so Kerouac was my sounding board, my companion, my best friend for a damn long time.

bobby666 08-17-2007 10:01 AM

Agreed. Cats can be pretty hands off, if need be.

Just be sure that you get at least 2 of them so that they can keep each other entertained... along with a couple toys and at leas tone of those kitty-tree things... and, at that point, all that's _necessary_ is changing the kitty little box daily, and dropping them some food once or twice a day.... maybe 2-4 minutes of chores total for those "I can't be bothered with a pet right now" moments.... laser pointers and those fishing-rod looking toys with a feather-dangle at the end are great toys to break out once in awhile.... catnip's fun for those evenings you're inebriated, and wanna share the experience with your pets... :winkwink:

of course, you can also make them pretty hands on... cat's are considerably more intelligent than most people give them credit for - they're just not very eager to please. You gotta show cats respect to earn their desire to please you.... and if you're successful enough at that, you can do things like train them to go to the bathroom in the toilet, do backflips, talk on command, etc.

Jinx 08-17-2007 11:27 AM

true, we got a couple cats roaming around and they pretty much keep to themselves.

Rankings 08-17-2007 11:33 AM
