Skype has been held ransom by an eastern european internet mafia group...
After failing to pay ransom they have been under attack and are suffering major attacks throughout their whole network system

so THAT's why it's not working:Oh crap

Imagine this fictional solution:
Skype routes its login addresses to the IP addresses of those making threats.

So I'm not the only one having issues today....
