I remember the day he died.

I was on a trip in the family's new van, driving from Austin to Memphis.

It came over the CB that "the King is dead!"

All the truckers put their headlights on that afternoon for Elvis.

When we got to Memphis we didn't even try to go near Graceland knowing it would be a madhouse.

I actually remember the night Elvis died. A buddy and I drove around smoking Thai stick listening to Casey Kasem play a tribute to "The King" - Elvis really was quite a performer in his heyday...
