"Syring faces charges of threatening and violating civil rights laws. The indictment was signed by Assistant Attorney General Wan J. Kim, the Justice Department?s top civil rights prosecutor, and U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Taylor."

this is a giant leap of course, but it might even occur to you that a MSNBC article isn't exactly a federal indictment and that there is actually a chain of evidence which points to one or more crimes being committed which might not be included in an article which is written for entertainment, ratings and to incite total idiots.
