My ears are sweating off down here in the south.

I grew up here and moved back for abit, but I think its hotter now than it ever has been....

is it hotter than normal where you live?

ServerGenius 08-15-2007 10:06 AM

In general yes....at the moment not :thumbsup

tomeatsdinner 08-15-2007 10:13 AM

Yes.. Its really hot considering that it should be rainy season by this time..

frostyimpressions 08-15-2007 10:14 AM

It's unusually cool, like 70 degrees here in LA at this time of year.

mattz 08-15-2007 10:15 AM

Normal right now, about 97-98

cali weather is something you appreciate while there and this miss horribly when you leave.

After being here down south for a bit, Ill be moving back - this time to Humboldt County. Its in the cool 60s there today. Can't wait.

aye, i smoked Humboldt herbs for a decade before moving out of cali. I could never leave that place forever.

I miss cali terribly.

Elli 08-15-2007 10:23 AM

In general yes, but not now. It's a typical summer right now at about 22C during the day. Nothing special. Perhaps even a little chill for this time of year. We never did have a real summer at all.

Brother Bilo 08-15-2007 10:23 AM

We actually cooled off a little in AZ, but the last week or so has been brutal. Our AC has been running non stop and I still sweat my ass off in the house. I think my electric bill was about 5 hundo last month.

I've never lived there but had family live there for awhile, and I miss the shops also.

I'm moving to studio city area in 2-3 months though

Fletch XXX 08-15-2007 10:24 AM

Also, Humboldt has no limit on # of plants medical marijuana growers can grow. So as a patient, I am very much looking forward to The Return. :)

Before I left, you were limited to 1500 watts and 99 plants. Not anymore

Nice. I liked the valley when I lived there. Although, its like living in Mexico too much for me. When the billboards started to be printed in Spanish all along Lankershim and Oxnard etc it became a bit much.Which is why next time it will be North Coast for me.

the section 8 is ruining SFV.

Really? I always dreaded the 2 or 3 weeks in August where it was 28 to 30+ degrees in BC.

Yeah, not this year. We broke rain records in July. The end of June and first week of July was brilliant, but since then we've had rain and moderate warmth. My tomatoes won't be ready for another two weeks :(

Peaches 08-15-2007 10:32 AM

It's warmer than normal this month but it was cooler than normal last month.

It was dry the first part of the summer, which was great for no weeds and no mosquitoes. Then it rained 2 weeks in a row which brought on a lot of both. Now it's dry again.

We are apparently in a "100 year drought" here too. 3 years ago Hurricane Ivan came through and flooded "100 year flood plains".

Winters: a few years ago it was below 0 several days. Last winter was very mild.

Ebb and flow ;)

Th!nk 08-15-2007 10:35 AM

it's been raining here for like a week..we've had 2 typhoons already and now another one coming in :(

The Mighty 504 N'Awlins counting the double murders by the day. 2 double murders in 3 days.

cyko 08-15-2007 10:48 AM

The high here in Phoenix is 107 today and I am about to go out into it for an hour or two. Last month's electric bill was $266.00. I keep my thermostat at 80 and have fans in the office.

It is monsoon season here but rain is few and far between, we still need more of it. :helpme

jonesonyou 08-15-2007 10:51 AM

That's like 110+ F

Humidity was way up, like over 80% at times.

So far despite the weather its been a life changing experience. My entire life has changed and I am a different person after the last 2-3 years now.

JohnV 08-15-2007 11:09 AM

damn, the south and southern midwest states are scorching right now!!! We (Michigan) are finally cooling off a bit....it's been a very hot summer (90's for the most part), but all the sudden, it turned nice and cool (70's and low 80's)...perfect :))
