World's Oldest Person Dies!
 

The world's oldest person, a Japanese woman who counted eating well and getting rest as her hobbies, died Monday at age 114, a news report said.

Yone Minagawa, a widow who lived in a nursing home but was still sprightly late in life, died "of old age" Monday evening, Kyodo News reported.

yeah... I also think that having your kids die before you one of the worst things that can happen. so I'm not sure I would like to live 100+ years.

Don't be so negative fellas! I'm 46 and in the best shape of my life. Unless something unexpected happens...I plan on partying and fucking until I'm into my 80's. If Hugh Hefner can do it I damn sure can.

I wonder if the world's second oldest person is ever investigated when this kind of things happens? Maybe they get a little jealous and impatient waiting around to be the oldest person and think "damnit, that's it, I'm adding a little something extra to her oatmeal tomorrow"

Actually, technically once they die they are no longer the world's oldest person. So it is more "the former..."

I'm not religious but I do know that he bible mentions some pretty old dudes... Methuselah, for example, reached almost 1000 years according to Genesis.

Anyway, as a molecular biologist it is my belief that the practical lifespan for humans could be raised to astounding ages through genetic engineering and biotechnological methods. At that point people would still die due to things like car accidents and gun shots, but the careful people could live quite a long time indeed.

I'll be happy to get 70 :)
