Pornotube Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary
 

One year into its existence, user-post content site Pornotube.com has become a ?ubiquitous force? in both the mainstream and adult sectors of the Internet, according to the company, a division of AEBN.

Launched in June 2006, Pornotube.com rapidly expanded in popularity and has drawn mainstream press attention from the likes of USA Today, VH1 and Fox News. The result has been an explosion in file-sharing and page views, Pornotube marketing director Suzann Knudsen told XBIZ.

According to Knudsen, Pornotube now offers more than 250,000 files, of which approximately 35,000 are photos and videos, and receives between 9 million and 15 million page views every day.

Knudsen said that while many of the files are professionally produced content added to the site for promotional purposes, there are plenty of real amateurs in the mix too.

?The ratio of amateur content to studio content is actually pretty strong,? Knudsen said.

It's the way of the future... If you can't beat em, join em. I've actually seen a few tube sites lately with really effective use of sponsor content as flvs and accompanying sponsor ads.

Pornotube offers less content than many TGPs - max 5 min videos.

There are some Tube sites that are doing us a diservice with full vids - PornoTube isnt one of them......

A) TGPs and free sites have led to a reduction is sales. FACT. If the internet was like the real world where the only porn available had to be paid for we would all be making WAY more sales.

And this is a benefit to your affiliates how?

Most TGPS have videos that are under 30 seconds. Most under 20 seconds.

I said MAX 5 mins - most are 30 secs or less and are promos - most are the same clips you see on TGPS.....

I have made more money from PornoTube than ANY TGP - That's more money for me and more money for the sponsors and producers.

You cant argue with that......

Well I haven't been on there in awhile, but I did not see any way for me to upload a video and put a link to any sponsor I may be promoting so excuse my ingorance at how I am suppose to make money using pornotube.

Also from their upload page

"PornoTube is firmly committed to protecting copyrighted content. If you do not own it, don't upload it! Also, spamming Pornotube to promote your site will result in deactivation of your account. If you want to advertise, please contact [email protected]."

I think it is obvious from the thread starters comments they are telling you not to not take the piss and spam the hell out of the site..... They know they cant survive with 'home produced' amateur content alone.

Promo content from a sponsor is fine - you have permission to use it - any doubts ask the sponsor.

Why wouldn't the sponsor just upload the content themselves and cut out the middleman?

Also as I said I don't see any place to add my affiliate link. WTF is the point of uploading sponsor content if I can't put a link to a sponsor?

I'm not asking you to give anything away because it's bullshit.

Yes if I had my own site, say gatorbjackingoff.com and I upload clips of me jacking off with my url on the clips then yes I can see how this can be useful. I'm not talking about that. So you're talking about apples and I'm talking about oranges.

Oh I suppose I could take my sponsors content and edit it so the url of my website is on the clips then send the people from my site to the sponsor, but that would be violating my sponsor's and pornotube's TOS.

I'm quite sure there are plenty of people who don't give a fuck how low they stoop to make a buck, but I do. Our business gets enough bad rep from the rest of society even though most of those very same people enjoy what we give them.

Ask the sponsor - they wont care if they get sales - and PornoTube know they need filler content......

Just don't take the piss on both counts and all is ok.....

I don't see how extra sales is bad for ANYONE?

Edit : I think you are mixing PornoTube up with other less scrupulous 'Tube" and Torrent sites.
