Blog SEO Installs - Why?
Seriously, it seems that there is always someone trying to do "SEO" blog installs. What does this actually entail? Installing wordpress takes 2 minutes. What tweaks and plug-ins are they using that makes them think that their service is worth a squirt of piss?
|
Anyone can learn how to do these installs with existing plugins. It's one thing if they come with custom plugins that require programming, but if not, a simple search in Google and less than an hour of time can give you the same results.
Thousands of free Wordpress themes: http://themes.wordpress.net/ SEO plugins: http://www.google.co.cr/search?q=wor...ient=firefox-a Seems as though webmasters spend so much time trying to manipulate Google that they forget to use it for the amazing resource that it is. |

I thought you were asking a rhetorical question with the tweaks and plugins as it's so easy to find them. Here are a few I like:
- Google Sitemaps plugin - Various META tag plugins that optimize each individual page - Permalinks - Only linking each post to one category - Morphing feeds plugin if you're syndicating other RSS feeds. (this isn't free) - Framebuster to redirect GIS traffic I'm not linking to exact plugins because I have mostly older versions of WP and don't know if they all work. |
i had some humus and babaganoosh last night in the weekly JDL meeting of the family

No plugins, theme, sitemap or meta tag wil save you, if you have no clue how to write the RIGHT text
|
I guess it's for people who don;t know how to install it on their own and don;t feel like learning.
For them though, they should try Lela Hosting All their packages come with fantastico, which automatically installs stuff like wordpress and joomla and forums and 20 or so other awesome scripts Installs at the click of a button, it can save you some Major time. For noobs wanting to start up a blog network or something I highly recommend them |
I'm trying out BCyber's blog seo/hosting deal.
I can't see paying $50 for an install, but he has a good offer going right now. I figure if I pick up one good tip it is worth the $ right there. |

It takes me longer than 2 minutes to install Wordpress.
Maybe if I were doing lots of installs on the same server it would take a couple of minutes each, but otherwise I'm taking a lot longer. It took me more than two minutes to write this post. |

I find them very cost-effective, and I use those types of services quite frequently. But then again, I value my time, and don't feel like wasting it on repetitive tasks that people are willing to do for a few bucks.
It's the whole "zomg, I can save $5 by not buying XYZ, it's only 8 hours of work" mentality that leads to such a high failure rate in the space. |
Those services are not for everyone, if you know what you are doing it doesn't take very long to set a blog up with a few plugins, but if you don't you can spend hours messing around with plugins/templates/etc getting frustrated because things don't quite work the way you want them to...
It's kinda like getting an oil change for your car, you probably know how to do it, but don't want to bother if it's only $20-$30, much easier to just pay someone to deal with the dirty work... |
Interesting...

I agree with you there. Sorry if I offended anyone with the previous post. |

I didn't realize anyone but Jace was doing the small "SEO WP Installs." Does he have a bunch of copycats now?

Most of what's going on here is a bunch of small-time webmasters like the OP can't imagine that there are people out there who know exactly what should be done and how to do it, but are far more valuable doing the "high level" stuff and paying other people to do the grunt work. It's all about the food chain. The OP has had their head so far up their ass for so long, they just make blanket statements and don't back them up -- it's been that way for a long time, and it likely always will be. I've called them on it several times, and they always do what I'm about to: leave the thread. Look at their laughable comments on plug-ins being able to replicate the functions of the Autoblogger Pro Stand Alone product, despite having likely never used it, and not knowing the feature sets. I usually LOL about it, but this thread hit new heights of "duh" .... :upsidedow Almost feel bad. |
