WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Women who get cosmetic breast implants are nearly three times as likely to commit suicide as other women, U.S. researchers reported on Wednesday.

Probably because lots of woman who need to get theses don't feel right about themselves in the first place...

If I spent 10k on tits that are too small, I would be suicidal as well.

Wow, thats a really interesting fact, i guess it's not to surprising seeing most people get them to feel better about themselves. Thats why before people can get lipo they have to have a psych evaluation.

It is an interesting report, but it is like saying that shit in the woods is very likely to have a bear in it's past. They are going the wrong direction looking for a cause.

People who have plastic surgery or cosmetic procedures often do so because they are not satisfied with their appearance. However, that physical dissatisfaction is often just the tip of a larger self image issue which can be part of a larger mental issue.

The real question would be "what percentage of suicidal people have first tried cosmetic procedures?" The surgery didn't cause the suicidal thoughts, they were already there.

I'd like to see the suicide rate for women who want breast implants but couldn't get them.

Like Dre said, it's not the implants it's what's going on in the girls' heads to begin with...

In a seperate report, it has been reported that people who use dollar bills to snort coke are many time more likely to die of a drug overdose than members of the high school chess team. The report recommends that all dollar bills are removed from circulation, which should clear the problem of drug overdoses up completely.
