Girl dies over Harry Potter Book

Quote:

The news report said that the girl and her mother had downloaded from a website what they believed to be the legitimate copy of ?Harry potter and the deathly hallows?

It was actually a fake book (My own personal opinion is that it was most likely a sick sort of fanfiction) in which Harry potter and his friends meet a gruesome end.

The girl?s mother said that her daughter was very ?crushed? by the news and locked herself in her room. When the girl?s mother came up to call her for dinner she found that her daughter had hanged herself in her closet using rolled up bedsheets and a nightgown.

The news reporter interviewing the mother then said that the girls room was filled with all sorts of Harry Potter toys, models, posters, dolls and the six books.

I'm gonna have to call

Bullshit

On this one.

The guy is quoting his recollections from a "radio news report" as his source.

The story was written on the day before Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released to the public.

This supposedly happened over 2 weeks ago, yet I can't find the story on any U.S. news Wire.

The bio of the author of your "article" is here: http://martinaquino.wordpress.com/author/martinaquino/

Like I said... Bullshit.

:2 cents:

The War of the Worlds (radio) comes to mind... the people thought what they were hearing was true... so much so it created a major panic... The lession is that the media does have far more influence on the majority of people then what we may think and they will act in a manor that they believe to be true for themselves...

It is very sad there was a loss of life of such a young person. :(
